I paid the upgrade fees listed on the website. I don't know about changing shapes, you would need to call and talk to them. They seemed resistant to change the original knife, ie go from a 555 to a 556 by changing the shape of the blade. Just remember, you also sacrifice the original equipment (blades and handles) as you will not get them back.
 
I just asked Mika I think her name was how much it would cost to change out my 154cm to m4 and she told me $25. I actually sent it out today, it had a tanto blade and she said they would change it to a drop point if I requested it in the warranty form. I also added the classic g10, I'll let you know when the charge my credit card if the hit me with an extra $30 fee.
 
Can someone tell/show me how to post pics on to this forum? lol, I'm an old fart that doesn't quite seem to know how to work this machine too well.
 
This is encouraging news (except to my wallet). I ordered a custom for my wife a few years ago and she never carries it. I wanted a small Grip, but ordered the large by mistake and that's why she didn't like it. I would carry it myself, but I put hearts on the blade and ordered the pink scales, so its not really my style. Anyway, I am thinking the solution is to send it back to add the G10 scales and swap out the blade for a different steel, I am just not sure I want to invest more money into it and I want to see how some of them come back in this thread first. Waiting eagerly for pics :)
 
I have a new set of Wilkins grips..

Do you think it would be cheaper to buy a new 555-1 and switch the grips out, or use the custom shop? I would do plastic handles and a 20cv blade. Thanks
 
Well Benchmade called me a few days ago to let me know they would be charging my credit card. I was told it would be $65 for the m4 and $50 for g10. That's a lot than I was told it would be when I called before sending it in. I should have it back next week I'll post some pics

Use a photo sharing website like Photobucket

Upload your pictures onto Photobucket…go to the "Share" link. Copy the "IMG" link…paste that link on here..and tadddddaaaaa!
