New here--At 75 do I still need to carry a knife?

Being a Hillbilly from WV, I think Dad slipped a pen knife in my diaper when I was born in 55. I have carried a knife of some kind all my life. Sometimes two.
I can guarantee to you that they'll find a knife in my pocket when I die. My brother is the same way.
I want to instill these values in MY future child, sounds like your pop was great!
Is there one in your bathroom near the toilet? Just a friendly reminder, like to see you fully prepared.

I need a dedicated shower knife, all of my last shower knives kept rusting and rusting but I think that LC200N has finally solved the problem!

YES, always carry a knife! My personal preference is a pocketknife that I can use one hand to open.

I am 70 years-old and have had carpal tunnel syndrome in my dominate left-hand, so, I have aging hands.

I have problems using thumb assist opening knives so, I switched to flippers and carry either a ZT0770CF or else my Spyderco Mantra 3.

...much older than yourself. similar description. Spydie has always been my no.1.
have had pm2 and military collections over 100 each...many other models.
faves Bradley folder 2 in cpm m4, slysz bowie (the great one...never equaled.
I also carry a fixed blade in cross-draw...use it constantly..more than clipped folder, and
also great defense weapon should someone try to screw with me.
oh yeah, also a 9mm when out and about. Stay in Condition Yellow.

I'll be 75 in less than a month. I don't see why age should impose limits on anything I am physically and mentally capable of doing--and that includes carrying a big honkin' knife. I mean, how the hell else am I supposed to pry those childproof caps off all the damn pill bottles I face each morning?

Public Service Announcement:
Animal shelters often reuse prescription pill bottles, so you might want to save them to donate. Any money they can save is good for the critters.

You ever think about trying a button lock? Very easy to operate.

I checked with my pharmacy and they have what I call, old fart friendly caps. Every script I get from them has those old caps on them.
Course it takes the fun out of using your knife. :)
If you say so. I find a button lock to be very useful in a high stress/awkward situation. Very easy to open and close without fumbling the knife and changing my grip much. Plus it keeps fingers out of the way of the blade path while closing. The shark lock might even be better than a button lock, just haven't gotten one to play with yet.
