From a Reddit post here:
There’s a photo in the comments of them at a Swiss shop, so it seems real.
Maybe this will tamp down on all the, “victorinox doesn’t innovate” talk. Though, I’ll be honest, I’m not 100% sure I like them.
I do like the addition of the nail file to what appears to be a 93mm frame. Though the loss of the awl would be a big bummer.
Don’t personally need/want the package opener.
I can see why the lock would be popular, but I don’t need it either. And the proof will be how difficult it is to use, especially if the backspring is as strong as the current 93mm.
I don’t like the skeletonized scales. At all. Talk about a lint magnet. And without being able to take it apart to clean, if this allows more dirt into the pivots it could be a real issue.
Either way, I’m genuinely interested to get one of these in hand
I have not gathered a lot of lint when carrying it, then again I dont put myself in the laundry machine either.I don’t like the skeletonized scales at all either. I wouldn't buy one for that reason alone.
Yea that’s a big blunder. I rarely catch my knife or the clips on my flashlight but it has happened in the past and my son showed me his flashlight he bent the clip on and i took it to my shop bench removed the clip gently reformed it and bingo good as new.Update. Great working knives, lousy clips, they eventuality loose and start rattling and dont hold on worth a darn. I wish they were removable

Worse case scenario you just order a replacement. View attachment 3041162
All removable.
I imagine it was an attempt to keep costs down. Victorinox seems like a company that seldom makes dumb moves. That said, I'd rather no clip than a non-removable one.Well, that's the major problem as I see it; Victorinox made the clips non removable. Dumb move.

One of my favorite jokes , is basically : " I wish I could be more decisive...or do I ? "just wishy washy
Maybe they dont have people carry prototypes before final decisions are made on a design before productions. Clip is too flimsyOne of my favorite jokes , is basically : " I wish I could be more decisive...or do I ? "
IDK , but maybe Victorinox is afraid to stray too far from their tried and true , by using fasteners vs rivets .
Because if used for a clip , then why not everywhere else on the SAK ?
Then you invite DIY mods and warranty issues , etc etc .
More expensive to make also .
Still , no good excuse for not at least making the clip super sturdy , especially if not removable !![]()
