Guys, thanks for the good words...we really try to serve well...it is truly a labor of love. As for BM, well, we had a brief meeting with Les and Doug Pettis at Blade last week. Doug feels we are not they type of dealer they want carrying BM products....Les simply walked away while I was talking. Bottom line, they won't ship us product because other dealers have complained about us.

I've heard, from quite a few dealers, that BM was impossible to deal with! Some refuse to sell their product!
I'm not trying to bash BM, but I think they need to work on customer relations, a bit!

sounds like pos run benchmade -if they dont want to work with a class act like nkg -

i dont see any benchmades in my future anyway

And you do a superb job.

Sorry to hear about yet more BM madness. Their loss in my opinion. NGK has one of the most loyal followings on the internet, to pass up on that market doesn't make much sense to me.

What are they thinking? I don't like BM anyway. Bought a few BM's over the years and ended up selling them all. I like Spyderco better. Just ordered two from NGK and they are shipped the SAME day. Wow, that's great service!

Stories like this just add to the negative opinion I have of BM. Maybe they figure they have enough loyal fans that they don't need new customers. Actions such as this (and the unlicenced round opening hole on the Skirmish) ensure I personally won't ever be a new customer for BM. I will still however be a customer of NGK.

welll I, for one, won't be buying any BM, if I can't get it here.
They won't miss my business, though. I only bought 1, about 2 years ago - Nothing special about their stuff, anyway.

So he doesn't want one of the highest, if not _THE_ highest thought of dealers on the internet selling knives for him?

they must enjoy shooting themselves in the foot.

Okay, so THAT'S good business practice... I've always found you guys to be quite good to deal with. I've even called your store a couple of times and I've always been helped in the speediest manner possible- not to mention you people know what you're talking about! I'm sorry to hear about your troubles with BM, but I'll be looking to buy some new Kershaw from y'all when you get it in.

On that note, will you please let us know when you get a release date for the Kershaw Groove and Junkyard Dawg? Thanks!!

Blah Blah Blah. Benchmades' product's and Benchmades' management style are two differant things. Apparently with all the spyderweb's in your eyes you can't see that.

Same with Cold Steel, right?

I see from your post that even their most loyal customers seem to follow their business example.;)

Nut, you are exactly correct. I have personally carried the same BM for 10 years..a little Pat Crawford design...sucker is nearly worn out, but I still carry it. BM makes a quality product and their customer service to the end line user is among the best in the industry. The issue is how much do you, the end line user want to pay for your knife...and who sets that price.

What my eyes see is that when a company treats one of its dealers in a less-than-professional manner then they are only so far from being that way with the customer. As for their products and management styles being different things, this is true. However, the consumer can only vote with their dollars (or lack there of) when it comes to a private company. I don't give money to schmucks. Their products may be good, but there are many companies making fine knives. I'll encourage their good business practices with my dollars, and not support companies that screw their dealers over.

I am on the side of NGK. If NGK stops carrying Benchmade I'll stop buying them. ;)

Thanks Michael and all of the folks that work for you. You're a good shop with good people. That matters!

We will continue to stock BM. At least as long as we can get them through legitimate business channels. This all started because many of our customers wondered why we were not stocking the Morpho. Simply stated, BM would not ship them to us. I make a lot a mistakes as I go through life, but I do try to take care of my business. I wanted my customers to know why we did not have this popular item. I would like to see this matter resolved in a manner that reflects well on both myself and BM, but BM does not seem to be willing to work in good faith. Lay blame where it belongs.
Heck, I would like to see our BM sales double in the next quarter. Really would steam up more than a few folks. At any rate, lets let this rest. Too much new stuff to talk about.

Its funny that the most vocal opponents of all this are diehard spyder fans. These same people wouldn't buy a benchmade to save their lives. And i wouldn't trade any of my 100+ benchmade's for a spyderco, to save my life. But you don't see me talking all kinds of crap about spyderco reguarding a situation that doesn't involve me. Lets stick to the issue and stop bashing everything that has a butterfly on it. I am not taking sides here, but this is between NGK and Benchmade.

There is always two sides to every story, and right now i have only heard one side. I am not saying NGK did anything wrong, i have heard many stories about Benchmade bullying their dealers, and i believe what mike is saying. But honestly i am not a dealer so it doesn't really affect me. I can get the same knife, for the same price somewhere else. I have bought benchmade's from NGK many times, they treated me right every single time, and i wish i could buy more from them, but i am mainly after limited editions and prototypes right now.

I really wish this would get resolved, its bad for everybody involved. I agree it doesn't do much for benchmades' image. But their product's and customer service are top notch, that's what matters to me, and that's why i spend my money on them.

Number one: this isn't whine and cheese, so watch the language.

Number two: Mike has asked us to move on and we should move the rest of the discussion to the thread in the General discussion area.

Sorry Sir! It won't happen again!:jerkit: BTW who made you a moderator?

Are you mad because facts got in the way of your bashing???

As requested, lets move forward.

Hopefully, NGK and BM can come to an equitible solution in the near future.
