New Persians Announced

I wish the FFG Persian was all screw construction...
It still might be. Prototype pictures don't always match production knives. The proto of the red one had a black clip and Ed Schempp's logo on the opposite side. On the other hand it may be a case like the Caly 3 where there's just not enough room for screws.

That's a good point. I'm pretty sure Ed Schempp said on the Spyderco forum that the FFG has pins and an adjustable pivot. I'll almost certainly still get it, I just prefer to be able to take apart my knives. But the most important thing is being able to adjust the pivot.

Any word on ETA of the FFG version??

Just got my bolstered red G-10 one today, I love it! :D

However, I will agree with Paul that I don't love the Boye dent and wish it didn't have one. It breaks the smooth flow of the back in my eye.

Other then that it's amazing, F&F is perfect, smooth opening with a solid lockup. I'm starting to remember why I liked lockbacks so much.

Forgot to mention:

Wow, is this thing sharp or what? First new Spyderco in months and I had completely forgotten how sharp these things come.

Still no ETA for the FFG sprint. Not sure I want it after handling the bolstered version either.

BTW, FFG is not a sprint
post #499
I'm pretty sure the bolstered sprint version with the red G-10 used the original curved clip.

The G-10 only version is not a sprint. I believe that the original clip was used on the first run. I'll have to check tomorrow, don't have one here. If the model is successful, we don't have a problem tooling up a new clip that is Left/right for subsequent runs.
