OK, maybe I missed it, but what is the little hole at the tip of the frame lock? I've noticed it on the HEST folder. Is there a removable peice as I've seen on other Lion Steel knives?

It's called a ball detent. There's a little steel ball on the inside of the framelock that helps to keep the knife closed, and to also help the knife open smoothly instead of rubbing up against the framelock bar

Thanks, I've never seen one done like that, but then again I'm not a big folder guy.

Thats a sweet looking folder :thumbup:

So effing excited right now. I'm gonna go to Shot Show next year if I have to sell my left...

I hope ESEE got permission from Rick to use the "Lock Stabilizer." I can't imagine Rick and Jeff don't know each other by now.

Actually that's a rotoblock by Lionsteel...the company that is producing the knife. It is similiar to the lock stabilizer, except you can screw it down onto the lock bar so that it locks it in place...essentially making it a "fixed" blade.

This is only the prototype being shown and the production knife will NOT have this feature

Tell the guys we can't wait for them to get back from Shot Show! Mr and Mrs Shotgunner, are you going to make sheaths for the LS and the folder?

Maybe im wrong, but that's not the ESEE4 Folder, but the ESEE3. Its on the blade => ESEE-3F

Anyway, thats a hell of a folder, and i cant wait to buy one :thumbup:

LaserStrike- Blade shape looks good. I don't think it will be favored by "bushcrafters" though. Coated blade= cannot strike a firesteel with the spine of the knife. Handle has a choil which most of the preferred bushcraft knives do not have.

SS ESEE 4- Although I don't care for the ESEE 4, it's nice to see the option for stainless available.

ESEE 3F- IMO that pic above doesn't have the wow factor the other prototype did. I hope the production version does not have a coated blade. Isn't it a stainless blade?

i think this 3f proto looks better than the last, but to each their own. i like black blades though. the only thing i would want different is a lowrider clip. i really like that feature on my sog flash ii. maybe some famous esee serrations would be cool too. :)

Having a blast here. Good show. If it wasn't for Katie, Mike, Tony and the Rowens, Mike and I would be lost. We've been busy.
