New/Recent Hinderer Scores Thread...a place to share and comment.

Very Very nice!!! I got a green black scale with mine. I have never seen one before. Anyone have pics of a green black scale?

Here's a quick pic.. black-green in-between black and blue-black..

AZ2 - I may be interested in trading, I was kinda hoping for more blue in my blue/black. its very black lol. maybe trade? yours 3.5? I also have a 3.5 red and 3.5 black G-10 scale up for grabs. what I REALLY need is some Ti for CF any style for 3.5,

for all of you that told me to keep that smooth 3.5 cf scale back in the day, when all i had was 24s and I was sent the wrong size by mistake...boy, wish I listened!!! cant find it anywhere now!

Lol, possibly - but here's the but.. Now that I have two blue-blacks that virtually match, I kinda like having both of them:roll eyes:

Yeah, the CF of all flavors seems to be fairly sparse these days.. Then, of course, there is the ever-elusive almost mythical pond scale....

now all I need is a Bowie and Aggressor and Im SET! well...and a hellfire, wharnie, XM24 tanto, fieldtac, FXM...the list goes onnn and on and onnnn and onn! ;) (I sang that last part, 80s)

thanks for the kind words guys! crazy thing is, this was in the previous and original owners pocket for a year straight as EDC...super fresh considering.

haha Rubi, I think Im too much for you sometimes. Id like to ad tho, these customs are insane. sharpest knife EVER. I guess thats what you get when rick grinds the whole thing, altho the production 24s when I had rick sharpen them were very close...but this thing could cut god himself.

Today is pretty awesome for a Monday. First off I worked this weekend so today is more like Saturday for me..

I was expecting my first custom XM to arrive today, and I was not disappointed! My new (to me) 3.5" working finish spearpoint w/ sandblasted frame, blue-black scale, and blue standoffs is awesome! It will make a treasured addition to the stable and user rotation.

But wait, there's more! Rob graciously accommodated an ano request (squeezing it in between shows I might add) and so I sent them my wharnie last week, according to USPS it got to the Ranch this past Thursday (12 Sep). Based on Rob's estimated 3-4 day turnaround I wasn't expecting to see it back until this coming weekend at the earliest, but realistically not until early next week. Well, somehow it got ano'd and came home to me in today's mail! The only way this is possible is if they did the work the day it arrived or first thing the next day and then immediately mailed it off. Knowing how busy they are this is simply customer service par excellence! I defy anyone to find better support and caring with any other business!! Thanks to Rick, Rob, Lori and all at the Ranch!! Oh yeah, the bronze ano looks completely incredible as well ;) It takes an already awesome XM to another level!

Now enough talky talky, on to the pics :D

I geeked out an put a blue-black on the wharnie so it matched the spearpoint in these pics. Plus, I think it just looks good :)

I think the spots on the spearpoint frame and clip is from something on my camera lens..

AZ - dont ask me how the hell I missed this post!! just GORGEOUS brother, damn Im lovin that bronze/blueblack/blue standies combo...my spearpoint will get into the ranch eventually for ano, going to do bronze, hell I may mimic your setup, I dig that dude. wow scores all around!! the WF is awesome, would love to see it in person some day. and that Wharnie is just insane. great taste, great scores. congrats! ;)

Thanks CFD! Yeah, I'm really digging that combo. I might slap the textured CF back on it to see how it works but not just yet..

For the spearpoint, I'd really like to get my hands on some copper standoffs - I think that would really pop w/ the blue-black and the SB finish on the frame..

Nice scores, guys.

Green/Black G10 for the XMs is mostly a show offering, but I have seen it on the ME Website and now on the recent Wharnies.

A buddy has G/B G10 on a 3" that came from a show, and I've seen very few other 3" in that color.

Yeah the green black has been showin up more n more lately. I have been tryin to get a few of my service buddies into hinderer, one was supposed to have gotten an xm of the last run the guys did, anyway my buddy told me green/black was an option when he was asking my opinion on the scales, I said you mean blue / black right? He said no he was told green. I haven't seen him in a few weeks so I'm not sure what came of it. And even then it may have only been for that run of the productions.

I'll tell you what though, this lil' blue / black is really growing on me minute by minute lol! Good good stuff, when I first opened up my 3.5 I said Wow look how small it is! But honestly I'm having a hard time deciding if I like the 3.5 better than the XM 24. The XM 18 3.5 is a dream in the hand, so is the 24. The 24 is just a beast tho!:D

I would really dig a 24 hand ground, thats for damn sure. Lucky jensen over there has a 5.5 hand ground! ;):p

3.5 is my favorite size for edc. The 24 is a beast and carries well also. I have yet to hold a 3" but that will be next on my want list. Lucky is right with that fieldtac cool daddy. That was a hell of a hunt and I got really really lucky.

The 3" is a sneaky little bugger. Your first impression may be, "Oooh....little smaller than I expected"
and then....

You carry it and use it. Then shorts weather, then you realize, "Hmmm, Hinderer goodness in a smaller package"
Love is born.
I still EDC a 3.5" BUT
I also EDC a 3" quite a bit.

I haven't gotten to that point with my 3"ers yet, not a lot of shorts weather up here :)

I think I will find opportunities where I will want to carry the 3 vs 3.5, although the 3.5 is the perfect EDC size for me (until they make a 3.25" that is ;) ).
