New/Recent Hinderer Scores Thread...a place to share and comment.

Does Hinderer offer a left-handed model? I couldnt justify spending that much money on a knife if it wasnt made for a lefty!

No dedicated lefty XM...but some left-handed folks figure it out and use it...some with thumbstud, others flipper. Like with firearms, many here train off-hand and can operate an XM that way.

Now...about the FXM.

She hopped around somewhat like a "mattress monkey" for a short-bit, but found a loving (potentially slightly abusing) home with me. While I prefer SW over SB, I like this knife a lot. Gotta find a minimalist-style sheath and maybe I'll carry this until I get a Flashpoint.

as a lefty i would have loved some lefthand hinderer customs like some other titanium folder competitors make - but after checking out all your excellent photos here i could not resist the hinderer temptation! :D  will post some pics as soon as i get my knives!

I have no problem with the XM and Im as lefty as they come. Im actually good with it in both hands, due to all the years of getting accustomed to righty knives.

CMD, N2k - killer scores! damn miss a day and look what happens! :D

Count me as another lefty with no XM issues. I usually carry tip up in my back left pocket as my preferred carry, though I have carried tip down in my front left- both work very well for me.

The XM - last I checked, has thumb studs on both sides (whether a flipper or not) and if it is a flipper then, that is accessible from both sides equally as well.
The lockbar can be pushed or pulled.....
I wonder if Jeep and Camaro forums get this periodic discussion too?

Add it to the "Old and Tired" topic section.

I'm pretty excited to share my first Hinderer. She's a 3" XM-18 Slicer/Flipper.

Something a little unique about this one...the first owner won it in a lottery at the Blade show and had Rick sign/engrave it. I haven't seen too many like this. I have a black scale on the way, so I will be changing out this OD scale soon.

Enjoy!

Great score diddy. Congratulations. Very nice 3 incher. Lets see some pics of the sig! That is really unique and cool.

I can't make it out in the Pic but seem to remember hearing about that (Rick signing blades) I don't know that he has done it before or since. Pretty cool.

Yes, Rick had a couple of sessions at Blade 2013 where he signed/engraved his knives. I don't know whether he has done it at other shows (haven't heard if he has) but he has done it at the Ranch. For example, I have the very first ZT 0550 he signed (which was the first production version he handled as he had only had prototypes up to that point).

Thanks guys.

Yes, that is what the original owner told me, it was signed at Blade 2013. Just something different - thought you guys would enjoy.

FYI - fixed the pics. :-)

Congrats! From your sig line you are pretty into the 3" knives. Is that due to the laws in your area?

Thanks! As far as the 3" size, it's more of a work/social thing. I live in a pretty conservative area, I don't see too many knifes. It seems like the magic number were others don't freak out if they see it. Last summer my M-I-L asked if someone had a knife to cut an Apple and I pulled out a Delica and you would have thought I pulled out a fixed blade. "Whoa, whoa...that's ok - I'm good." She said.

I'm thinking of picking up a 3.5" for around the house, but will probably stick to the 3" for my EDC.
