As for Rick engraving blades, I saw it happen too in ATL. Like his autograph on the boxes, it's not my thing; but I see the attraction and cool factor others like.
 
Just got a black DLC investigator pen in aluminum in, and I'm not sure that I like the size. I guess I didn't really know how small it was until I got it. Does anybody have a picture of a side by side picture of it and an extreme duty pen?
 
I don't have a Investigator, but I do have an Extreme Duty. And I think it's perfect size. Plus you won't get as fatigued writing as you would the Investigator. Being that it has such a small profile :)

I don't see a problem. Unless he has the same two "problems" I have...want a bronze Ti Investigator...please no PMs...I know they are available from time/time here/there.

2nd "problem"...I want for a clicky of Hinderer quality and design, but that's a big ask.
 
Thanks, gents. Nice pictures! I guess I came off a little different than I had wanted to. I do enjoy the pen, I really do. I just didn't know it was as small as it is! But it's all good. I just need to try to grab a ED pen sometime to try it out. I'm sure this one will grow on me pretty quick.

I work in a major ammunition plant, so my hands can get pretty dirty and covered with brass shavings. Guess I was hoping to have sometime a little more heavy and longer. I'm sure the ED will be good for that.
 
The ED is beefy, alittle too bulky for me even in aluminum...the investigator tho...that little baby right there is perfection. I bought one for my brother in law for Christmas (to match the matte black spyderco i got him last year, which he carries every day! Figured this would be perfect, hes into MMA and works in an office, perfect gift right??!), on its way now, along with a set of bronze handle screws for myself lol. But yeah I have owned both pens, I have pretty big hands, I love XM 24's, but still, the ED was just a little too long and a little too fat for me. When I open the investigator I said wow, this things tiny, but as I started to write with it I realized it's absolutely perfect, and it's just the perfect size to use in a self defense roll, when I grip it, the bullet tip just pokes out of my hand...

The only thing is I wish I could get all the same sweet attatchments for the tip, the bullet tip is sweet, I know you can get a flat end for it, but I would love to see a strike bezel, warhead tip, or a mini AP point!
 
I got an XM-18 3.5'' spanto in a few weeks ago. I have to thank Rob Orlando, I was a little too eager to place an order and flooded him with emails. Regardless, he was extremely professional and got my order shipped in a timely manner. Im debating on getting blue standoffs, clip, and filler tab. Not to mention an Investigator pen, XM-24, smooth CF scale, and the list goes on...............:D

I have a warhead tip on my aluminum FDE DLC Investigator.

I'd love to see Rick offer a clicky in a size right between the Investigator and the ED.
 
got this FXM WF Slicer, sterile CTS-XHP blade, well no logo sterile, has the steel stamp

and got this Ti scale, man im LOVIN it! the feel is amazing guys if you havent gotten one, get it now before there finally gone and ur kickin urselves in the butt in retrospect.
