but now I can't decide if I want to put my pond on it or text CF (or blue-black, that would look nice to I think)… too many choices

One of the few lucky ones that has the option to put the pond on ;)

Touché! Very valid point David, thanks for bringing me down to earth! :o

So, I was trying to explain to my wife how special the pond scale is, how hard to come by, etc. She just gave me the "you're stupid" look :(

Well, she is correct you know, why bother even trying to explain that one to your wife...

:-)

I used to realize nearly every day how stupid I am in an attempt to explain certain things to her, particularly gun or knife related, so I stopped doing it.

haha yeah, 6 years in w my lady and Im still learnin...see, us men have to pretend like we care about what they have to say, and I might as well keep my mouth shut haha. I get "they all look the same!" even if Im not interested in what she has to say, Im still REAL good at pretending haha...atleast she could TRY to PRETEND to be interested! right?! is that so hard?! just give me my jollies wether you care or not, obviously you can SEE how excited I am! right?!

thats why I love you guys, ya'll actually DO care! ;):D

Picked up a FDE DLC spanto, and I am thinking of switching back to the plain ti hardware and maybe a different scale, but who knows, doesn't look to bad as is.

Now you've done it.. better make sure your PM box has some room ;)

That's a good-looking couple of knives, btw :)

Watchknut...Your pair of XM's look good bro! Especially that FDE spanto!! You just need that dang pivot to finish it up....

Very nice :)

Watchknut don't change a thing. That fde is sick!!! Juice is right though buddy you need a bronze pivot. I wish I knew I just sold one! :)

Picked up my second XM 3.5 slicer. Came new with a Blue scale but immediately removed for Translucent and brass standoffs. Blue isn't my first choice of colors but have to admit it's very nice in person. The Translucent and brass caught my attention before I even owned an XM and although I'm not the first to put this combo together I still find it a unique clean look in the hand.

Aren't we all, but 14 years surely means you have already beaten the odds...

:-)

I dunno. Look at the Captain and Tenille :) As for my "discussions" with the wife about all things gun/knife/car/stereo...... related

Done.

Less is More. I remember one time I got a new pair of speakers in the same finish just to keep things on the D.L.
"Those speakers look different?
Really babe, How so
" They're Bigger"
Nah don't think so, must be the lighting.
"oh"

Problem solved.

Perception is reality. Nice job!

^^^Lol! That is a good balance Shane :) My guess is your wife's perception has had to do with her long career in the military... And putting up with you ;)

Luckily my wife is accommodating too!

The trick here guys is to be accommodating to their wants. I find taking the Mrs to Knife shows and turning her loose to do her thing all day balances things out. Unfortunately the tag along philosophy usually is a more expensive trip. But like the saying goes " happy wife, happy life"

Then there is that aggravation when we go out to dinner and what to wear. When you walk into the bedroom and she has three outfits on the bed to try on. I patiently give positive feedback on each one, after her reaction to the mirror test, you know the drill, does this one make me look fat, does this one show off my hips, does this one make me look old? I'm sitting there with that time tested pasted smile and say " oh no that looks great, no you're not fat, that one really shows off your attributes" all the while thinking of what gun I plan on carrying concealed, what type of ammo would be most effective in this urban environment, do I have enough rds on me. Finally decision made, go with the green dress, makes her look perfect, although another conversation about when we get home it's diet time. I go with the S&W model 60 revolver in an ankle holster loaded with hydra shock ammo and two speed loaders. Clothes were easy 5.11 pants, Bass Pro matching shirt and Merrill shoes.

F.O. - I must say I thought you looked very nice at the J.C. show. The 5.11's were very slimming and..... :)

To those who were not in attendance, F.O. does indeed have it down to a science. Step#1- Hand Wife the credit card and say, "Love you Sweetie, have fun".
That's it, there is no Step#2.
I on the other hand have yet to strike the proper balance, possibly because my Wife actually likes knives.
