I don't hate the look. It reminds me of the case hardening on cowboy guns which I really like on guns.

Those do look nice. I would be interested in seeing how the burlap handles "age" if carried /used on a regular basis.
 
I am digging the striations in that bone. I was hoping the dye wouldn't be so strong that it would drown them out and look like an acrylic.

Nice knife, I am impatiently awaiting the arrival of mine...

The burlap micarta looks very similar to the tan burlap bark river uses. I don't think these will change color. It doesn't appear to be very porus. I wiped mine down with mineral oil and then wiped the oil off and it looked the same.

Beautiful! Can something made to look like decomposing fruit be beautiful? Whatever the appropriate adjective - I really like this, and can't wait to get mine.

I think this might be the cream of the crop of this round of improved trappers.

Darn. Just checked them out and it seems that you guys already bought all the attractive Hawthornes. The ones left are rather, mehhh. I'm sure I'll hate myself tomorrow when they're all gone o_O
