New run of 54s

image.jpeg Just received my Moose, what a spectacular knife. From the unique jigging of the evenly colored, richly hued bone to the perfectly positioned and chosen shield. The M&G team even went the extra mile and expense to design and use their own tang stamps. The blade etch is cool and while I generally prefer unadorned blades, it works on this knife. Then there are the extras such as knife box, storage pouch and historical ad copy. A very well presented SFO and very reminiscent of the Champlin knives from a few years back. Actually, I wish this knife had the deep laser etching of the Champlin knives to prevent it from wearing off.

I didn't get to swing the M&G pieces, but I did get a nice mail call today. It's a factory second, but I really couldn't tell if it weren't in the product description.

My first 54, this is bigger and heavier than I thought it'd be. Not a bad thing, I really like this knife. Just a surprise. I look forward to putting my own edge on these blades and putting this in my pocket. :)

And here's the small fault in the wood that made it a factory second:

Very nice, I have the same knife in my pocket. Honestly, I would not have been disappointed to have received mine as regular production, the inclusions are that minor. I feel the same way seeing yours. It's a nice feeling saving some cash on a knife:thumbsup:

Those really are special. M&G really nailed it. That shield is perfect on that knife.

Thank you for the comments . Since I live in the Kansas City area and collect $2 bills these jumped out at me to get the pair.

Come on DLT....
Take my cash already.

I wonder the reason for the delay... they are normally fairly prompt.

Thanks for posting this as I was wondering today if my info got lost in the shuffle.

Usually DLT is somewhat active on the forum...

Below are the two I'm anxious to see.

Given the recent Hawthorne jack, I'm kind of surprised that this run of 54s doesn't include some Forest Jacks.

DLT is waiting for all the models to arrive before releasing them to the wild so that we have a full accounting of the numbers.

Less broken hearts and hopefully a happier experience for everyone.

Sorry for the delay.

Thanks for the heads-up. You guys have been putting out some great SFO's lately.. looking forward to seeing pictures of these in the wild :D

Wasn't interested in the 54's at first, not a fan of 2 bladed knives, like my knives thin. Then realized that the DLT SDO was a single blade. I'm anxiously waiting for 2 of the DLT SFOs, Burlap Micarta & BRJB. The Appaloosa bone looks real nice too, they were already gone when I saw found these. Does anyone have a pic of a 54 next to another common GEC pattern for size comparison, these will be my first 54s.
