New run of 54s

Love mine, the ironwood has "CHATOYANCE"!!!!!! Have been waiting along time to get some ironwood on a GEC knife.
Great pics everyone, keep'em coming.

Wasn't interested in the 54's at first, not a fan of 2 bladed knives, like my knives thin. Then realized that the DLT SDO was a single blade. I'm anxiously waiting for 2 of the DLT SFOs, Burlap Micarta & BRJB. The Appaloosa bone looks real nice too, they were already gone when I saw found these. Does anyone have a pic of a 54 next to another common GEC pattern for size comparison, these will be my first 54s.

Had the 85, 77, 72 out to clean so snapped another size comparison picture...

Beautiful knives! Great pics!! The Ironwood and shield just make the whole knife! Love it.

Really nice Mark!!! Ironwood is always good and that one of yours is... well... one of the best! Excellent pic too. Congrats on scoring a very special 54.

Thanks James! I am really loving it, even more than I thought I would! Thanks for the kind words.

Yes, it is.

CBR, that is a lovely #72 that you should show more often. If you ever tire of it, just let me know;)

lol, thanks. It's with me daily so it has a fair amount of wear on it now. I'm hoping to add one of the DLT singles to my daily rotation. There's times when I wish I had just a smidge larger blade and I think the 54 will fill that need.

I don't see me ever parting with this one...

I asked this in the "Let's Talk GEC" thread, but thought I'd post it here too, since some folks who know a lot about the 54 pattern are likely to show up here from time to time.

Here's an idle question about tang stamp numbers. I was looking at the "2017 Releases" page at GEC's website today, and noticed that the #54 DLT SFO with a single spearpoint blade was listed as 541217. Wouldn't the "standard" GEC numbering be 542117? Is the number on the GEC website a typo, or are exceptions sometimes made to the standard numbering scheme?

GT, that almost has to be a typo on the website since GEC (as you know) has a standardized numbering system. I have not seen any variations from it yet and can't imagine a reason they might change now.

Nice pictures of the #54 variants showing up here - thought I'd join the club!

The etches didn't scan too well, but the knives are great in hand. Ken and Roger went the extra expense of having tang stamps made - a class act. I wasn't sure I'd like the jigged bone - I don't think it photographs well. But in person it has a nice semi-translucent glow that shows it off - very nice it is!!! Great packaging; I am glad I bought the set!!

It would make sense to me that the single spear SFO would be 542117. My two bladed Jack is labeled 541217. Thus, would appear to me to be a typo on GEC website for the 54 DLT SFO.
