Well, we rented a new shop space. I'm very excited about it. It will get the business out of my basement, and allow me to legitimize the business. Here in the basement, I couldn't get a business license because I'm not 'domestic' in nature. So, no insurance either. Plus, my homeowners agent tells me I am in 'gross negligence' and no claim would be paid if my home burns down. We've rented 1200 sq feet of light industrial space. It has a storefront, a small office area with a bathroom, and a 18 x 36' warehouse with a bay door. Bonus! It has a mez space that has been walled off and is airconditioned! Woot! I'm going to post pics as we go. What I have first is a couple of pics of the warehouse part and a real blurry pic of the office.
This pic is in from the bay door. The floor is already epoxied. Neato. You can see the mez space up top from here. That top space is 22' x 18'. There is a 9' wide balcony for storage of handle materials. The lighting is a problem. And there is only electric on one wall right so far.
This is looking out from the door that leads into the office. This bay door is HUGE. My basement has a regular door, but nowhere near as much natural light.
The compressor is going to go under these stairs.
This pic was taken just inside the front door. The office is straight ahead, and the bathroom is on the right.
We're lucky in that we're on the end unit, and there is a nice side yard. The landlord says we can punch holes through this area if we wanted to build a shed and put the compressor and dust collection outside. Thats sweet, plus Boudreaux has a nice place to lay in the sun. I get to bring my dog to work nowadays. I always loved being able to do that.
Now, on to the DUMB. Dan had a ball laughing at me for this. I went and bought the black pipe to make the compressor drops around the shop, and screwed all that pipe together with the male connection on the nipples. Nobody said anything until I was all done and it was time to test the system. Of course, the compressor just blew all the air out through the hole in the connector. Duh. Seven drops. I made the same mistake 7 times. Boy did the guys have a laugh at my expense yesterday. So this afternoon I gotta go buy the female, and replace the connectors. LOL. Dylan tried to help me out. He suggested small female female hose would fix the problem. LOL. No. Gotta do it right. DAMN I'm dumb.
