NEW spyderholes BM's

In fact, think about it, to get the new Griptilian (550HG) required the contributions of these famous knife designers / manufacturers, in no particular order:

Bill McHenry
Sal Glesser
Mel Pardue
Les DeAsis

Throw on an Ernie Emerson fat "skull" clip and you have just an awesome package that no single designer would have ever dreamed up. Quit your whining, fork over your dough and be happy.:D :D

I don't know about that, Sal Glesser "dreamed up" both the pocket clip and the Spyder-hole, two of the three features that make the Spyder-hole'd Griptillian unique.;)

What design feature of the new, Spyder-hole'd Griptilian was the underlined party responsible for, the butterfly logo? I bet that took a lot of work.

As far as Ernest Emerson ever contributing anything of his to anything made by that company, I doubt it would ever happen (unless YOU plan to switch the clips yourself). From what I've heard and read, Bob Terzuola, Ernest Emerson, C.J. Caracci, & Allen Elishewitz, all of them true, tactical geniuses in my book, weren't exactly treated right by a certain company a while back.

Makes me glad I spend my money on Spyderco's, Emerson's, & Kershaws. Companies that innovate don't need to imitate! "Those who know carry Spyderco." Those who overpaid carry _________ (fill in the blank):D .

Spyderco didn't invent the Axis lock, McHenry did. It is one of the very best locks out there, IMO. Les liscensed it. It was a good choice.

Mel Pardue designed the Griptilian. Good choice.

Ernie designed a wider clip based on the Benchmade hole pattern (Ernie used to buy his clips from Benchmade). I like them better than the typical Spyderclip (YMMV).

Sal put a clip on a knife and put a round hole in a blade.

So the way I add it up, the count goes four original inventions (axis, griptilian design, clip concept and hole concept) + one improvement (Ernie's clip). Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

 So which one was Les DeAsis responsible for? Aside from buying or borrowing the ideas of others, that is.
