New Web Specials??

Anyone get an order confirmation yet or know when they will ship?

I ordered one last night, I think, but no confirmation. When I confirmed the purchase, the field went white like it slow to change screens. I'm not 100% sure it went through or not.:( I left a message for them to call me today and confirm. Ordered a yellow 301 also(I think) to get over the free shipping mark.

I don't mean this to be a knock on the decision to offer a 154cm 110 as a special because I ordered a bunch like everyone else....but I just can't understand why those blades didn't go into the custom shop as a "blades on hand" limited option. It is certainly a steel I would select for a few orders.

It almost seems as Buck is washing its hands of 154cm entirely.
I hope this means we'll be seeing 12C26 110 blades as I really like that steel as well.

What puzzles me is the price they chose to put on them. I'm sure that they would sell out if they were priced higher. On the other hand, a buyer might not "stock up" on them as some of us did if they were more $.

I think $45 would easily attract plenty of customers. I bought 5 but would have only gotten 3 at the higher price. But then they have those racetrack sales too...maybe they'll be putting all those knives up on the special board in the future.

I let a friend know about the 110 154CM yesterday, he hasn't owned a Buck in years and in fact has never owned a 110 to my knowledge. He checked it out and ordered two. Not sure if I should set the hook and reel him in yet or not? He might do that on his own after he gets his order ;)

Well, Plum and Flatlander, from my past days in retail, I learned that product movement and cash flow is preferable to more expensive stock that sits in boxes on shelves and increases your tax burden (tax on inventory) at the end of the year.

Of course, if you think the price should be higher, you could contact Buck and offer them more money. ;):D

Wolf is right on both points.

You guys pushed me over the edge and like imafritz I ordered the 110 and Yellow 301. I got a confirmation number as soon as I ordered and they said it will ship out tomorrow. I own about 40 Bucks, but these are my first ordered from the factory.

How much tax you have on blades sitting in a box Jeff? :)

Cash now is always better than "maybe" more cash later particularily in these potentionally inflationary times.

I've been thinking one of the new 154cm knives I'm about to get is going to need some desert ironwood installed in it.

Well I hope I get mine as I still have not received an e-mail and my credit card still shows the charge as pending. I have sent a e-mail to Buck. I hope I get one as I see they are now all gone.

The $30 154cm 110 midnight special is over. 190 gone in two days or less. There is still the bone 110. :D

Here's what may be of interest to the Duck and Phil...it seems a lot of people purchased other knives on special when they rushed in to get the 110. That was probably the plan. :)

"Loss Leader" marketing strategy 101.

Got my shipping confirmation last night. Now I just have to wait until 11/29 for delivery. Damn holidays anway. I can eat turkey anytime I want but a new 154CM 110 doesn't happen every day.

"Your package is on time with a scheduled delivery date of 11/19/2010."

I received the emailed shipping confirmation this AM.

My order is already "out for deliver" from the small UPS hub a few miles from my homestead here in the sticks where delivery is usually made late in the day. Pics when received unless someone else beats me to it.

yeah, i grabbed 5 of the 154 110s in the end with a few orders but also grabbed about 8 other models too, so i got hooked and landed too!

completely overlooked the 301 single blade thinking it was the same price ($40) i paid a few weeks ago for it. for $22 might outta make another couple orders and get a few to make up for my $18 early-bird mistake!

hope they keep adding specials every couple months (just often enough to build up the knife fund)
