There is a new "Tom Braun" TRACKER and SCOUT on the eBay market.

This looks like an exact copy of the Tom Brown Jr. TOPS Tracker. except the logos. Doesn't look too badly made either.

Anyone ever seen this one before?

Search for- survival tracker - the list is short.

I once bought a Rolax watch in Nogales. It kept time, sort of, for a while.

Dogman, that's why he said "LOOKS like". He just asked a question; no need to razz the guy (and if you were just gving him a bit of friendly ribbing, then I apologize for sticking my nose where it doesn't belong). It does LOOK well made. Then again, so did M-Tech knives. Actually, many cheapo and rip-off knives LOOK better than some actual quality knives. That's what gets less knowledgable people to buy them (because they think they're are getting a good deal).

Before I buy and use something like this, I would make a knife by myself. Even if I never made a knife I would trust it more.

I own a ton of great knives that I bought SUPER CHEAP (10 bucks for like 6 of 'em)!!! Maybe you guys have heard of the companies:

Spidercore (you know, the knives with the square holes)

BenchedMaid

FLOPS Knives ("Low priced tools for low need individuals"...I think they make the Tom Braun knife)

Bust Fruitbat Knives (they make the oh so awesome Fighting Hooker bowie and the Metal Soul)

There are others, but I can't think of them right now. Can you?

You can tell how well it's made from a jpeg? I wish I had that talent. Would make computer dating more reliable :)
That's how most buy a TOPS Tracker as well. Looks just like their pics. There are more on the ebay auction too. But I suppose you may want to cut back on the computer dating. lol

Probably better off getting the offerings from Tom O'Dell, Todd Boone, and Shawn Lefler. They are made from genuine "surgical steel."

That won't be on the market long before TOPS has customs seize it for TM infringements. I obtained some of that China black and grey micarta and it is real thin, seperates and chips easily. They seem to be putting it on a lot of tactical version knives.

Lots of things made in China "look" ok.
They make some industrial equipment that "looks" like the American machinery I sell.
It just does not work or last quiet as long....

I suspect that, eventually, the Chinese will figure out the quality thing, the way the Japanese did. When they do, it will be a very different world we live in.

They will figure it out really quick.
I think I may have 5- 10 years of good will and mindset before I get bowled over by the Chinese juggernaut.
Price will always be the dominant factor when dealing with customers that are struggling to make a dollar themselves.
