New WSK TRACKER hits market

I suspect that, eventually, the Chinese will figure out the quality thing, the way the Japanese did. When they do, it will be a very different world we live in.

I hope so, but I hope the knife industry doesnt follow the car industry:barf:. I imagine the chinese will start producing higher end products but there will surely still be cheapos. Look at Pakistani knives.

Man, that thing is all the way up to $148.00 plus $27.00 shipping. That person could have had the real deal for that or better yet a Predator WSK. Fools and their money are soon parted. I could see maybe $20 to $40 bucks but WoW!!

That is the most blatant theft of a name, design anf if you look at the grip the tops logo or something similar to it. As true knife guys we shouldn't buy this crap even if it was $1.00.

$177.50 and climbing. My guess is that it will sell for more than the real Trackers listed with a Buy-it-Now option. The people bidding on it obviously think it's the real thing, and someone is going to be very unhappy when it arrives. I also wonder if it's really 1095. When was the last time you saw a chinese knockoff that wasn't cheap stainless?

digdeep,
Who are those guys? What type of offerings do they have?
These are the guys who advertise on the cable and satelite networks selling Frost Cutlery knives (not to be confused with Frost knives) and selling low grade knives. Shawn broke a sword live on the show and can be seen on internet videos.
See cutlerycorner.net for examples of these POS's.

Look who's bidding on the Scout knockoff.
Link

Edit: Just realized that redscorpian6 was the original poster, and probably had the bid in before starting this thread. I need to learn to pay more attention

I never watch that but I have seen that stupid video. lol. Guess it was karma.

Yeah I did it. I think it is hillarious. But it is overpriced. If I win we will do a pass around. Anyone interested, Sound off!

Would it be out of line to report the item as a possible counterfeit?

Counterfeit what? Counterfeit "TOM BRAUN"? Doesn't the TOPS version say TOM BROWN Jr.?
I think this must be a different guy. Guess he is getting some karma for some of his actions. lol
Maybe the next thing that comes out is "The TRACKER's Trail" a book describing the adventures of a young chinese man learning from an ancient "cherokee" Indian seeking to transfer his knowledge into a young chinese man, so he could open a training school and charge huge amounts for philosophy courses on the spirit world. Maybe the chinese guy meets a guy named David R. Bick that would build a produce a knife for him.
Could be a new best seller. Who knows.
I don't care who you are, this is pure irony and funny.

I wonder why the tracker clone is going so high, but the scout isn't getting any bids.

I wonder if the person who receives the "Tracker" will even realize that it's a fake? It could be a non-knife-nut that's never seen a "real" tracker, and will never know the difference. Until of course it breaks, and they try to send it back to TOPS. :D

kiahs,

Not sure. I think the reason the scout version is not getting any other bids is because of the way it is listed. Look at the title. Not getting the views. The only way I fell across it was, I looked at their other items listed and saw it and put in a bid. that AU conversion threw me some and then the Shipping cost was buried into it. This is going to be a $35 knife. But it should make for good passaround testing. Hell I think it will be fun. Perhaps we start it out like the Travelocity Traveling Gnome. Anyone who had the knife can take pictures and post their adventure and findings. But it has to be a real funny story. It has to have some entertainment value. This can't be another dry review, for that I would send to Cliff. lol. Luv you man.

E-bay has already been sent a Copyright Infringement Letter and US Customs officers are taking this counterfeit seriously. The problem is they are selling from Nan Yang China and unless shipped in quantities to the US might be able to get around customs. Word is these may be cast as similar ones were being offered stateside at $3.00 each for the Scout and $12.00 for the Tracker if you bought 500 or more, customs shut that down. Similar stainless ones that came from Asia in the past cost twice that if ordered in quantity. All American production knives are at risk from this kind of forgery and if the knife buying public doesn’t wake up, many more companies will follow Schrade to the grave. Oh I forgot their not dead, just made in China now!

They better act quickly then someone is throwing down $177.50 for the TRacker version.
Allen242 do you work for TOPS, TRACKER Inc or Customs? How did you get all the information?

I hope whoever won the tracker bought the "Chinese Army Helmet fighter Military Police helmet". Just wouldn't be right chopping something up without wearing one!:D

Final price was 192.50 + 27.80 for shipping for a grand total of $220.30 for a cheap knock off. Damn, got to respect those profit margins.

No Aaron I don't work for TOPS, but I'm good friends with Mike Fuller and they make some of my knife designs. I build equipment for knife makers (grinders, tables, jigs, etc) and supply charitable and non-profit groups with custom knives for fundraisers.
