New ZT drop on 11/4. Any leakes?

Has the MagnaCut ZT0562TI shown up in stores yet ?

I saw a listing on a website that was marked: Out of Stock.

Been and gone, or Coming Soon ?

I saw one posted on here somewhere, maybe the recent acquisition thread…?
Sure enough, I checked BHQ and the 0562ti was listed as having MC.
IIRC, KAI runs it at 62-64

It's not my thing but I found a 0562 Ti MC for sale at 1 site but it wasn't BHQ.

If you want to find the site, just do a Google search for "0562 Ti Magnacut" & it should come up at the top of the list.

I bought one. The hardness is 60-62 Rc, which is in line with Larrin's recommendations and maximized for toughness. I like that hardness.

But I don't like the knife as much as I thought, based on people's excitement. I'll probably sell it. It seems pretty ordinary.
 
I’ve owned and handled quite a few ZT’s, but I only own two now, the 0095BLK S90V which is a fantastic knife, and the 0470.

I really wish I had bought an 0808, but never did . The 0801 was cool but too heavy for me.

An 0808 in magnacut, maybe with a CF scale insert would be cool, or maybe an 0770CF on bearings.

The MC 0452 is ~$300

The 0308CF is currently the only ZT selling for $400. It's priced at $525 MSRP & is selling for $420

The 0562TIC is priced at $390 MSRP & is selling for $312.
 
The "new" releases are the 0004 Fixed Blade & the 0556 Auto that you can now find HERE under "Featured Products."

Not thrilled with either one of them but I collect autos & have both of ZTs prior autos (the 0610ST & 0650ST) in my collection & will probably buy the 0556 which closely resembles the 0470 (in appearance & size) that I recently bought too.

It's smaller than I like but the 0556 is made w/a Ti handle & a Magnacut blade, which should make it popular among those who like/collect/carry autos.

So far, I've only found 1 dealer currently selling it but they want to charge sales tax on top of $360 which makes it just under a $400 knife to me. So, I'll wait to buy it until other dealers who don't charge sales tax get it.

I know you were hoping for it but did you really expect something better? 🤷‍♂️

I'd say the release of ZT's 1st auto in many years in the form of the 0556 is pretty notable but it's obviously targeted at a niche market.

On the other hand, I agree that the 0004 is pretty hum-drum.

Took a look at Kershaw's new releases too & there's definitely no "there, there" for me either. :cool:

This is why, until now, I've only collected older/vintage/discontinued ZTs but there are at least 3 newer ZTs on my possible buy list, the:

1) 0308CF M390 FFS
2) 0006 Black US Made Blade Exclusive
3) 0556 Ti MC Auto

Not in a rush to buy any of them but, to date, these are the only ZTs currently made/sold that have any interest in buying.

Also, just thinking out loud . .

I don't know why KAI would be planning to discontinue the ZT line entirely if they are releasing new models and as long as they can still distinguish the ZT & Kershaw knives from each other, based on style & pricing, which they are still able to do based on their current releases for both lines.

If the rumor was true, I'd think they wouldn't be releasing any new ZTs & would be saying, "that's all folks" and discontinue production of all of the remaining models.

So, I'm not putting much stock in that rumor at the moment. 🤷‍♂️
