Time for a group hug and some s'mores....
Gnarly, can you sing?
Man! I can't wait to get this knife! Woot!
All I'm gonna say is
that I'm really looking forward
to getting my 0560 & 0561.
If other countries get them first,
that really has no bearing
on my situation.
I'm not a child
and for something this good
I am willing to wait.
Okay jimmer-5. I'll know soon enough, can't wait!
I won't claim to be unbiased. Some people wear Rolexes. A Rolex doesn't keep anywhere near as accurate time as a digital watch you get out of a box of cereal. Rick's knife is really nice like a Rolex. The ZT is more like my Casio Pathfinder with a titanium bracelet and a compass, barometer, and thermometer and altimeter with syncing to the atomic clock in Colorado and has a solar panel around the face for charging. Both watches are really nice and have their place. But to say that the Casio isn't worth the money because it isn't a Rolex doesn't mean anything. I wasn't meaning to belittle Rick's work at all. I stand by that the ZT does blow away the custom but they are two different blades that people buy for two different purposes. If I had the money I'd own both.
I know you meant to imply that I'm biased because Thomas gave me a tour and that I was over there hanging around. That simply isn't the case. I'm probably biased though for different reasons. My day job is as a information systems engineer dealing with lots of technology and so I'm biased towards the stuff made with the ultimate in high tech steels and precision computer controlled equipment. I hope my comments weren't taken at all to mean that Rick's was quite nice and stands on it's own. It really was. It has a lot of work put in to it and is well designed. Without it the ZT 0560 wouldn't exist. I just was defending the 0560 in that it is a great knife and that people don't need to keep complaining about that they don't like the scales on it or the 0550s and that the 0560 is a heck of a deal for what you get.
I hope that clarifies things rather than muddying things more. I don't expect to change any of the minds of those that just came to troll. Trolls will be trolls. But hope my further explanation clarifies things and returns us to a more civil conversation.
I didn't save anything, the board saves it when you quote someone. I quoted you in entirety with no editing. I then added my own note in bold to make it clear it was my words again without editing what you said. I did this immediately after your offensive PM to me. I felt I needed to explain any bias I had as a matter of civil discourse and address your personal attacks.Listen nifenerd. I removed my post (which you saved and surgically altered a bit) because jimmer-5 asked that we not argue about knives and muddy up this thread. The moment I saw that I deleted it and the result is as you see above.
You chose to re-open the issue for no apparent reason since it was late at night and no one really reading the thread at the time and quote a semblance of my post I deleted and start a big fuss about it. Giving us your job resume and other inane details about watches etc. that no one really gives a hoot about except you maybe, acting out the keyboard toughguy roll when nothing was needed to be said. My post regarding your observations had been taken down about 20 minutes previously.
I really had no beef with you personally and I guess I don't now since I've run into you for years on this board and I'm used to it.
You made a statement that I contested - that the ZT 0561 "blows away" the custom Hinderer XM (whatever) since you didn't designate. IMO, that's hogwash. It was baloney last night and it is now. I'm sure that the ZT 0560 will be a great knife and I have one on order, but don't play this off like the tail's wagging the dog in terms of these two knives or in terms of my disagreement with your rash statement is in someway trolling the thread or you. It's not. 1. You're comparison is wrong 2. I removed that post so that no one could misinterpret my intentions 3. 20 minutes after deleting my post there was no reason for you to repost and stir up mud for no reason other than your own edification.

If you looked, you would have seen my join date. You can't have run in to me for years on this board. I lurked for years without posting anything. Created an account under another name last year. Then switched to this name. I've never spoken to you before. I may have replied to something you've said here but never to you directly. We all have different opinions here. Most people don't feel the need to make personal attacks against other people when they disagree.
If you have anything further to say to me please do it by PM. I'll give you my phone number and you can call and we can discuss this like men instead of posting accusatory and inaccurate offtopic posts. I'm sure there are those that find this entertaining but this isn't the place for this and the moderators have better things to do than act as referees.
But it's coming back right???Or at least that's what the cleaning lady has been hinting at around here recently.
I wanted to agree to disagree but you felt the need to attack me personally. This isn't the place for that. You're right your PM wasn't offensive in content. I was offended you wanted a pass on what you said by me removing all evidence of the personal attacks you were making against me.You want me to PM or call you to tell you I think you're wrong about an opinion? Nahh. You can tell me right on the board, I don't get mad about other's disagreeing with me.
I see you mentioned an "offensive PM" I sent you? Would you mind posting it, it was very ate and I don't recall being offensive? I think I asked you to edit your post because I edited mine completely out because jimmer didn't want arguing. I recall asking you to edit out yours quote of my deleted post so I wouldn't have to respond to it. Didn't work.
Let's just agree to disagree on the custom Hinderer okay? That's all this is about to me anyway.
Send me my ZT 0560 Kershaw - so I can unsubscribe from this thread - pleeeze!!![]()
Well the recent release of the Tilt I got from you was very well done. Had I not had the receipt of what I paid, I would have sworn I held a $400 knife my hand. My only real gripe has more to do with my personal incompatibility with the wharncliffe + Choil design, as I feel it loses cutting edge. Other than that, the only real difference between it and a Sebenza seems to be the distance between the handles and the blade itself. That, and there's no exotic wood inlaid in the handle scales, but if Kershaw ever releases a high end KVT flipper with exotic wood scales, inlay or onlay, I promise I'll be the first in line for one:thumbup:.I also was at Kershaw yesterday and did manage to spend some time with the 0560 on Thomas's desk. I have had some experience with knives, custom and Manufactured, I also played with some onion mid techs and I will say that the 0560 is the most impressive production piece I have ever handled, I was quite impressed and I would love to have one of Ricks Xm's in my other hand to have an actual comparison and I hope someone does that, I just don't see how, in my opinion there could be a huge expanse between the two, because in hand the 0560 feels like a custom and I don't have to say that, it is true. This is my favorite knife that kershaw has done to date and I suspect it will VERY soon be yours as well. Kudos to all that have been involved in this process.
Dave
