New ZT/Hinderer Flipper is Coming!!!0560/0561

I like my Clash if I want something smaller and lighter, IMO my 0300 is a fine EDC and what I want from ZT. For my reliable light knives to wear with my suits I'm getting a Knock-out and I would love a Cryo with a 3.5 blade in a USA steel, like S30v or Cpm 154. Just some ideas I would buy, Thomas. Take it for what it's worth $.02

bigdean, I see that you are in Switzerland. Were none of your local dealers a part of the initial shipment that you have to look on ebay? Or did they sellout too quickly for you to get one? What is the MSRP for the 0560/0561 in Europe?

I couldn't find any dealer here in switzerland having the 0560/0561, I found 2 in Germany, but the price is €349/360 which is about $460/480, and for about $500 I could probably get the XM-18. But I'm not shure if I should spent that much and rather wait for a 0560. I found one dealer in Germany who wants €280/$370 for the 0560, but no knife in stock, preorder only.

Is anyone that got a 560 gonna edc it? Seems like no one wants to carry it because of it's size?

Certainly too big for me to EDC. I just don't use a knife that much, less that once every 24hrs. I can't see packing around something big that wouldn't get used. Mini Grip is as big as I want in my pocket.

The role a 0560 would play is in my backpack which I use like a purse (goes in the car with me). It would be my hiking/camping knife.

I have gaven up on this knife a month ago and bought a Strider SMF and have not looked back . I was thinking I could grab one for like 3 bills when they came out but I guess I was wrong ....

That's a whole different category of knife. By the time the 0560's have been around awhile, they'll be selling for $260.00 (MAAP). I don't see many Striders for sale in that price range.

It might be more appropriate to compare a Strider to an 0200 or 0300 than to an 0560, but I get your point. :)

Not knocking strider but what does it offer over the 0560 really?

The size and being sharp is the only common factor.

Different strokes. Ergonomics, blade width, etc. Not even comparable in my opinion, and I'm not giving favor to either on that statement. Different planets really.

I've bought like 4 Striders waiting on this knife so far and have a 5th coming on the way. I might as well buy the actual Hinderer at this point!

In terms of what they offer over the 0561 (at least on paper) it's probably nothing, the Strider community is kinda cool, other than that not really much else except that I guess you can have one NOW. I think ZT's machining and tolerances are on par with Strider and almost that of Chris Reeve if you've ever owned all 3 at the same time (I have).

I still stand behind the 0300 as the greatest hard use knife ever, at the expense of a ridiculously wide pocket carry :D

Thomas, whats the latest news on the 056x knives? I haven't been to this thread for like a month I think haha

As far as hard use genre goes I have always been of the mindset that if you use a knife for its intended purpose a slip joint will perform as well and many cases better than alot of the hard use knives. Guys who truly abuse their knives day to say are in a small minority. For most of us, it is just cool factor to make us feel spec op.
