New ZT/Hinderer Flipper is Coming!!!0560/0561

Thanx,Thomas W. for your answer.

Actually,I should be more like ranchmanben , when he said:
'I don't need a picture. I know it will be pointy and stabby and awesome and I want one.'

But I keep going back to that 'Artists' Rendition' of the prototype Flipper that was posted here...

Blade Show pics may mean: I'll need a bib.

is it wrong for me to have printed out the proto picture, cut out the knife, glued it to cardboard, and made stabby-stabby motions?

Not that I did, mind you....I'm just wondering.

You must post a video of that for us to see...:D

Hey, wait a second!! I just noticed on the second pic that the lockbar is not engaged with the tang, yet the knife is open. Is this a rendering "mistake" or is something else going on?

I don't think we should read too much into the early CAD renderings.
I'm sure they will have the lockbar engagement issue "fixed" by production time....heh.

When you make a knife blade, there are a number of machining operations that occur - grinding the bevels, reaming the holes, and grinding the angle onto the locking surface are among them. You need to leave some extra material on the blade where the locking surface is so that you have something to grind away when you make the angled locking surface.

It's worth noting that the image you are referring to is a CAD model, so the parts may not perfectly represent the finished product. The models are generally very close, bit that doesn't mean that there won't be changes.

I made the new drawing into my desk top picture. All I have to do is turn on the computer and I get a quicck fix!

Thomas, PLEASE make this knife as close to 4" in blade length as possible. This design is approaching holy grail territory.
Also, it needs Vanax 75. Maybe not at release, but at some point.
