New ZT/Hinderer Flipper is Coming!!!0560/0561

I hope these are going to be production knives and not an LE. The LE thing, while something I am successful at, get's stressful and tiring and is only worthwhile when it's offered with a "hard to find in quantities" steel.

So save the LE routine unless you can offer it in S90V, M390 or S110V :) If these are offered I promise to buy at least 1 LE and 2 productions in the S35VN, Elmax or Vanax steels.
Wishful thinking.

As I said before, Thomas must be feeling some serious murderous intent from asking his guys to grind an edge on Vanax 75:D.

We ought to chip in for diamond coated belts and some lubrication first:thumbup:.

Every flipper that I own or have handled that uses some sort of bearing system at the pivot always has a strong detent. This is part of what makes these flippers flip so well without any wrist needed. Between the strong detent and the smooth gliding action because of the bearings you have flippers that open like a rocket on oiled glass. I wouldn't call it gimmicky at all.

That's good to hear.

A feeble attempt at a subliminal message :D

...Probably, just a real small one ;)

Hopefully to devote more time to working on their KVT system for the new ZT.... and to machining the M390 steel for it

I just want to state for the record that the talk of KVT is just talk and speculation. Use of KVT and blade steel type has not been officially stated by Thomas. This is just a guess I made when the talk of what type of washers will be used was happening. I don't know where M390 blade steel came from, but again, it is just speculation.

I am convinced this one will set new standards.

Just as the ZT/H 0551 did.

Of course. But as of yet, not unconfirmed speculation :D

True, but Rick was right in his earlier post about certain speculation being taken as truth. A lot of readers of these threads read every single post, but some just skim and see something like KVT and M390 and all of a sudden these false specs are spilled over into another forum as fact. We all know it happens. There are still people asking what the differences between the 0551 and 0550 are, so we definitely know that not everyone is as tuned in as some are.

Tony is right! Reading is your friend:thumbup:

I think that even the casual skimmer will see the last couple of pages for what they are, a guessing game. And since Thomas has been encouraging this game, I assume that it's ok.

Then again, maybe not. You certainly do have a valid point about the 0550/0551.

Excellent wording,gentlemen!

(Can we make that required reading?)

Most of us knifevultures will devour every word, and occasionally stir the pot.;)
(This group will buy the knife; maybe more than one.)

Others, less committed, will simply skim this thread & assume.
(And dash off elsewhere with their assumptions.):jerk it:

Knifevultures have, once again, flocked around this one!

Thomas, Have you guys been able to pick up more Vanax 35? How hard is it to get your hands on the S110V?
Thanks,.

I agree 100%. This won't just be a 0551 with a flipper and different blade steel. I would only imagine there will be some real differences that will shake things up and set the new standard for production knives. I just hope the price point stays at $200 or less.
