Or if you want a flipper to practice with, do what I did and get an 0200. They can still be had in the $120-range if you know where to look.
 
Tigerstriped 560 is most likely going to look similar to the other ZTs with that camo. pattern. I have never seen a picture of it that I can recall. Got the pre-order in at the b-hq before they filled. Since I know they are future offerings, had to Pre-order a 561 from another vendor.

Love GI Joe toys. Had and still have many. The kid in me will never die.

Now, if a Hinderer design flipper is something you want to play with, but nothing close to build quality or materials of ZT or Hinderer, there is a Hinderer-Gerber collaboration. Materials are not exotic, can only be carried tip-down, I do not own one. But it flips. Model: Torch II. It is not my style, but putting it out there for info. It is all black, tanto, 50/50 plain/serrated and inexpensive.
 
I don't remember the date I preordered from Kershawguy (Dave). I asked him where I am on his list for a 561 and he told me I'm # 102.

Does anyone have a po # close to # 102 and do you remember the date you preordered ?

Wow!!

Dave must of got bombarded with emails on t his opening days of pre-order.

I'm pretty sure I sent him an email a day or two before he officially started taking them and I'm #13.

Dave, I don't know how you do it, but I'm sure I speak for all of us when I say that I'm happy you do do it and in such a professional and courteous way.
 
I just dug through my emails and looks like I sent an email to Dave about the 0561 on 6/5/11, and forgot the 0560 on that day. Emailed about that one 06/17/11. if a 6/16 order is #102 on the 0561 I have hope!.

You have got to be gold brotha.Like I said I'm #13 and I ordered on or around June 10th.You have gotta be a really low number.

BTW, got my 0560 today,AWESOME KNIFE!!!! Uploading a vid right now( nothing special, just something to tide Ya'll over)

I don't know. What do you find a problem with the 551 again? You don't like the frame lock on it, OK. What about the liner now?
 
I enjoy the unrelenting enthusiasm for this knife. It is definitely deserved! :thumbup::cool:

People have to be curious if these knives will ever actually reach an inventory shelf, being forever destined to pre-orders status and "under the table" high-dollar sales. We can only hope that the good people at Kai continue the production of this knife until it reaches the hands of us all, not to be cast aside into the halls of discontinued gems.

I feel like the runt of a liter struggling to find a teat!

In some of the very early runs of the 551 the liners had rust on them. There was some kerfuffle and resulted in a Kershaw/ZT employee being fired.
 
Well, I know I won't be able to get the 0560 any time soon, so I just bought my first Zero Tolerance knife... the 0200 flipper & a Spyderco Manix 2 for the price of one 0560 :p... Should be here in a week.

Hopefully it will cure the itch... :)

I did something similar. I bought an 0200 and traded into a Sage 2. I figured I needed to do that as I was late getting onto Dave's sign-up sheet (11-13-11). I'll be lucky if my 0560 shows up by Christmas. :(

Yikes. Thanks for the background. The liner is a bit shiny compared to the back slab. Maybe it isn't really titanium. No matter for me. I love this knife. The 560 or some knife in the future will be the only blade to set this one back from EDC. `
