New ZT/Hinderer Flipper is Coming!!!0560/0561

Well, it is Saturday night.... Seriously though, it took a fantastic edge as expected.

You guys feeling the jimping is too sharp still? Next batch we're gonna massage a bit longer so to soften it up. That sounds...weird.

The jimping is fine, and yes belly hair shaving and the massage thing is weird. No pics please. :barf:

No pics from me haha. As for the jimping I do find it a bit harsh especially the jimping on the lockbar cutout.

This is directed at Thomas...why when I send an elmax bladed knife in for sharpening it comes back to me WAY sharper than it was brand new? Relative to this thread....capid1 mentioned sharpening and I was curious...I am more than willing to send my 0560 back for sharpening if it comes back as sharp as my 0551 I just received from warranty is now. (Convoluted question?)

Jimping on the blade was perfect. I thought the jimping on the back of the frame was a little sharp when you flip it. I'm a sissy. :D

If you ever get tired of the big, bad jimping hurting your dainty little hands, feel free to send the knife to me. :p

Got my 561 today!!

Its already well known, but I do dig the fact that the lockbar cutout is much thinner than the 560.its almost un-noticable.
Overall both knives feel the exact same and lock-up on both is about 40%.The 560 hasn't moved over at all even after a week of flipping!!!!
I prefer the dark brown for sure, glad I preordered one.

To answer the questions that have been posted about the narrower lockbar cutout - we have tried a couple different ways of making the lockbar slot. The wider slot of the 0560's is completely milled. The narrower slot is laser cut. There is more to it than that but this is the essential difference. All the new 0560's and 0561's will use the narrower lockbar slot.

I'm trying to enjoy my lionspy, but you guys that are receiving the 0561 are bumming me out

I totally understand where you're coming from, man. I got like...four new knives. One of them being very awesome, but I can't even enjoy them because I want that 0560 so bad. These guys on this thread don't make it any better for me either. I have to figure out how to fill this hole in my heart. :D May just have to go drop some serious bread on an AK47 or something big'n'bad to hold me off.

Also, to the guys who were saying things about jimping and whatnot, I simply ask to just give the knife some time. Whatever you guys say, Thomas and the other reps for Kershaw/ZT take it all into consideration and more than likely it will go into effect on the new knives. Maybe once you get some serious time and use on the knives that the jimping won't be as bad as you originally thought. Perhaps it'll actually be better than you originally thought and serve a better purpose during use, whereas if you jump the gun and tell the reps that it's too sharp, they make the necessary changes, and then you get a knife where all the reviewers are saying has "superficial/cosmetic jimping". I could be wrong, but I just suggest to give the knife some more time and some more use before making a claim. Not saying any of you guys are wrong, because I have no experience with the knife but I'm just making a suggestion.

Dunno, our sharpeners are regular peeps, some days are better than others. :)

Thomas, are you upset that a dealer might be unhappy about the order Kershaw released this knife? Thats between your company and and your dealer network to work those communications out.
I am just a customer. They expressed their opinion/disappointment to me about the priority of which the knife was released in. Like many, they thought a "Made in America" knife would have USA precedence.
I am sure they will (or already have) contact their own Kershaw representative if they wanted to express this directly. They carry many many brands besides Kershaw so who knows how much they really do in fact care about it?? Once a again, I am only a customer and have no dogs in this fight.
I wouldnt take any of this personal regarding the forum. We are all just fans and loyal customers of Kershaw.

Just finished up the 2012 International catalog (5 languages this year!!). Looking for approval to send it out to our overseas dealer base. mystro, appreciate if you ask your dealer for me as well please. Don't want to again anger them.

Hold on a second.......wiping the drool off my keyboard...........

Saving my pennies for a 0561...really dig the brown scales. I'll enjoy the 0550 while I wait.

Has anyone else received their 0561?

I was # 13, anybody above that # get one.Just trying to see what the cutoff point was is all. These things seem to be the most highly anticipated knife
of all time ( or atleast recently).Don't remember even the 551 being like this.

Thanks.

No 561 for me yet... I placed my pre-order on 6/16 of last year so I think I'm in the 100's as far as my place in line. :p which probably means a few months still.
