Wow, that means Dave got about 100 emails all in about 2-3 days!!

Could of sworn I put my pre-order in about 1-2 days before he went official with his thread.
 
I know I am #99 on KershayGuy's list for the 0561.
I just confirmed after getting shipping confirmation of my 0560. :p

I got on the 0560 list on 02-26-11 and the 0561 06-16-11 in the afternoon.

I am just a customer. They expressed their opinion/disappointment to me about the priority of which the knife was released in. Like many, they thought a "Made in America" knife would have USA precedence.
I am sure they will (or already have) contact their own Kershaw representative if they wanted to express this directly. They carry many many brands besides Kershaw so who knows how much they really do in fact care about it?? Once a again, I am only a customer and have no dogs in this fight.
I wouldnt take any of this personal regarding the forum. We are all just fans and loyal customers of Kershaw.

Think you meant to say it should have been between the dealer and the manufacturer. Unfortunately this particular dealer decided to dog their displeasure of us to the ELU's vs. talking direct. That's cool.

Let's just end it with I've learned another valuable lesson here on BF's.

I was #9. Tracking shows it as having left the hub in Dulles VA today, it goes straight to my post office from there. so I should see it tomorrow. Unfortunately, I have to go to work before the post office opens, so I won't get it until I get home around 6:30 EST.

The part that hurts, is that I'm a 90 minute drive from Dulles...and I can see the post office from my house....its probably in there...waiting not 100 yards from me.

I got on the list for the 0561 on 6/5/11, and the 0560 on 6/17/11...god knows how far down that list I am lol
 
Getting excited now that they're hitting the streets. Can anyone with both an 056X and Hinderer tell us about how they compare?

Your advise and insight on the forum gives us a good inside look to all the pit falls of bringing out a new knife.
It's been said before but , I appreciate it.

I called KC today, they said they haven't received any 60/61 deliveries yet and can't see what position I'm in (assuming they queue their pre-orders). They tried to placate me saying it's a normal production item and all pre-orders will be filled which sounds like it may be a while.
I'd switch to a 0777 but think that will be an even longer wait.

I got same response from them. Now we know they are not high on kershaws list....we should stick with Dave next time
 
Hate to be negative, but I really wish I had been totally in the dark about this offering from the beginning. Would have much rather just seen it in stock one day on a dealer website and waited a few days while in transit. Anticipation is great to a certain point. After that point its just aggravating. Hopefully we'll all get our emails sooner than later, but I for one am totally done checking in on this thread.
 
I ordered mine yesterday on KC; so far the only site left that takes pre-orders. I have a bad feeling it's going to be a 6 month + wait or it's going to get cancelled. With demand drastically overshadowing supply, I see only 2 outcomes:

1) Prices will go up drastically should ZT continue the current business model. Even doubling down on production to meet demand will merit an increase in costs.
2) ZT will end this model (0560/0561) as a limited run and if they choose to furnish future demand, will return with a revised model with some cost/time saving methods employed.

Or they will continue to produce at the current rate allowing supply to slowly meet the initial demand.

Why would they do this? It doesn't make sense to me. I must be missing something?? :confused:
 
Just keep this in perspective, this knife's pre-order has been going on for a long time. Some of the people who have gotten the knife, pre-ordered it before any pictures were seen! I pre-ordered june 16th and i know that there were TONS of pre-orders before I put mine in. Notice some of the most active people in this thread since the beginning are getting theirs to roll in. They had their pre-orders in a looooong time ago (like almost a year). This is one of the most anticipated knives I have ever seen. If you just jumped into the queue in the last month or two and are complaining about it, I personally have no sympathy for you. I've waited this long, I can wait a bit longer. This is a normal production model so everyone will get it, it will just take time.

Now bring on more beautiful pictures to tide me over!
