Help me out here please .............thanks dj
Well what do you use your knife for? 99% of my uses are utility task and food prep. Which my skyline, sebenza, 0551, and umnumzaan all do well. The 0560/0561 will be no exception, its just an all around robust knife. Don't mistake less weight for less capable![]()
I hope your right about capable.
I do a lot of cutting of hard plastics and beverage/beer tubing. We also have some tough-as-hell large zip ties at work that require a lot of twisting to get underneath and cut.
I guess that is where my concerns are.
Since I do a lot of "twist" type cutting where I stress the blade.
That is where the 350 is great as the liners are huge and just feels like a tank.

For some reason, I'm not jumping for joy.
I mean, I love the ergonomics and the look of the knife, but this was going to be an EDC to replace my ZT350.
I don't see that happening. When comparing the 560 to my 350, I want to stay with the 350.
My issues come solely from the weight/ruggedness.
The blade, ergonomics, mechanics and overall looks of the 560 are outstanding.
However, the 350 is a heavier knife and for some reason just feels a lot more "solid".
Its a smaller blade, but not by much. I like the profile of the blade on the 560 better, but I cant get over the weight.
Most of the 350 weight is coming from the liners.
I like a little heft to my knives, and perhaps people actually like how light it is.
I just don't know how the 560 will hold up to every day use.
Man! This had been my plan a small and large flipper duo. Now I'm a little concerned...Man that 561 just dwarfs the Skyline! Nice pair though.
I'm new to knives so does weight, or the lack there of, always indicate a knife's ruggedness? Or is it perception thing? Maybe ZT should come out with a special "heavyweight" 0560/0561, one that does not have the liner milled out (correct term?). By saving that step, maybe they could get them out faster....
