New ZT/Hinderer Flipper is Coming!!!0560/0561

Thanks for your response jimmer 5.
So your saying the 560 is AS Strong/Stronger than the 350 in materials both blade and handle?
Like I said, the end use of this knife for me is "hard use". This was not going to be a box/rope cutter.
If you tell me it will hold up AS GOOD as my 350, I will open her up.

It's hard to put a quantitative measurement on "strength", except for maybe the material thickness. The 0560 blade is 0.156" thick while the 0350 blade is .0121" thick. The 0560 has a 0.175" thick titanium framelock scale, while the 0350 has a 0.080" locking liner. Both use top notch powdered steels for their blades. Regardless of any of these measurements, I would argue that the 0560 is a a bigger beefier knife than the 0350. It's definitely as strong or stronger than on 0350.

Hey guys, I just joined the forums and I hate to make this my second post but...I just received my 0561 in the mail today and although the knife is absolutely beautiful I don't think it is preforming as it should.
When I depress the flipper, 8 out of 10 times the blade will not fully deploy, when it does fully deploy it is very slow compared to my 0301. Also it is nearly impossible to deploy the blade with the thumb stud. has anyone else experienced this? I would really hate to have to send it back.

First off, welcome to the forum. I suggest you go through the various threads discussing the 0560, you'll gain a lot of incite. That being said, the 0560 uses a bearing system, it is not assisted, so it would make sense that it would not deploy as fast as the 301. And the thumbstud issue has been discussed. Check out YouTube for the various videos talking about it.

You have a great knife, enjoy it!

My 0560 was a bit underwhelming at first but as the detent ball wore itself into the blade tang it became super smooth and easier to flip.

My only guess is you are somehow pressing the lockbar in very tightly...Mine deploys wicked fast and 10X faster than the 0300 series.

Try putting your 3 fingers on the clip when deploying with the flipper.

As for the thumb studs, its a flipper mainly knife, but they can be used to open it.A flick will open the knife, but as far as a controlled open...

Thanks neverdie, I will follow that advice. But the issue of the blade not fully deploying into the locked open position is really what concerns me. I'll get back when I figure this out. once again thanks for the advice and the welcome!

Yea I noticed when I have my fingers pressing on the lockbar it would slow the action on my 0301 but I'm being sure not have my fingers on the lockbar at all and the problem still persists. I should probably move this to a different thread.

I really doubt these things will come from all dealers in the order of the pre orders, some yes, others no

Got delivery confirmation from KC ..... should be here Friday!

Holy Crap, just received an email confirming the charge and shipping of the knife!! I take back all the cussing at my keyboard:D For the record I ordered it from KC in early October.

Seems KC is functioning with some confusion. Sadly not in my favor like NightMare Silverado.
