New ZT/Hinderer Flipper is Coming!!!0560/0561

Why is there jimping on the flipper? It really doesn't come into play at all when flipping.

Well I want something thats not gonna slide out of my hand or my hand over the blade in case I have to stab a Zombie ......LOL

My 561 came in the mail today. Fantastic Knife and well worth the wait. Great job Thomas and everyone else envoled at ZT. I paid about 10% over map.

Mine has a Low seriel #..18. Centered blade, lockup at 50%, flips easily right out the box.

I may send it back to ZT for a new ti scale tho. Mine has a few dings on the bottom of ti scale. It's a new knife and should look like 1.

I almost forgot, I got a Peter r Rapture almost lnib in a trade 2 days ago so I guess maybe I might be able to wait a couple of weeks for a new 561!

Got my 560 today. Pre ordered it from knife center exactly 1 month ago. Thanks guys. I cant believe how light it is for the size of the knife. My detent is a little strong but should break in with time. Awesome well thought out knife

You should consider yourself damn lucky!! I pre-ordered my 0560 almost 6 months ago from KW. Spoke to them last week, maybe June. Oh well, the wait continues. In the mean time,I will enjoy all the pics and reviews from everyone.

In reference to my post here as #4664... I'm full of mud - or worse!

A return trip to the knife emporium today... I perused a bunch of knives... the HEST & LionSpy were once again dropped from my consideration - stiff to open and close. About to leave, I had to once again try a demo ZT-0560... then, another demo 0560... then a 0561... and another 0561. Four demo's - on display - more in boxes. Now you know where a bunch of those new ZTs went! They were far easier to deploy than I recalled... by flipper, not by what I thought was a thumbstud. Wow - I got a new in box 0561 - a bit stiffer - but it improved with a few deployments - and is fine now. That's right - a 0561 came home with me - move over 0551's - you've got a new guy to share room with! Buying from a brick & mortar store - with a salesman - is costly. With my great discount for being a frequent customer, even if this is my first knife buy of 2012, all I could afford was a McD's Happy Meal with the change from three Benjamins. Is it 50+% better than my beloved 0551s? I don't know... it is nice... and is now my third most expensive folder purchase (CR 'zaan & small Sebbie are 1 & 2.). Congratulations to me... and it's all you 'enablers' fault!

Bad news first... I'm 200+ on Dave's list for a 561 and I had to trade my beloved 551 for a 560.

The good news... I'm 200+ on Dave's list for a 561 and my trade turned out to be an incredible good decision.

While I appreciated the quality and workmanship of the 551, it was a shelf queen that didn't fit my carry style. The 560 on the other hand is freakin' perfect! I love this knife. It has just the right balance of size and weight combined with a deep pocket clip that simply makes this knife a discrete joy to carry. And that's before you even start discussing how smooth the blade is to deploy. Whether you deploy it flipper style as designed or using the thumbstud, it is fast and smooth with a positive lockup. While admit I had to initially consciously modify my thumbstud technique, that was minor and nothing to worry or be concerned about as much as some previous post indicate.

Simply stated, the 560 is a home run. I'm not sure when or if I will ever see a knife replace this one as my go to knife. Thanks ZT and Hinderer. Well done.

An online vendor had a DLC coated 0560 and a tigerstripped 0560 and a stonewashed 0560 as "comming soon" anyone have any idea on when we will see a photo of what that might look like?

I dont know but I can not wait for the TS 560 - I honestly hope they wait unitl next year since I just laid down money for a 550, 560, and a 350TS. I did sell some knives to make up the difference.

Good luck on the hunt! Different strokes for different folks...ZT got it right! I personally prefer a plain stonewashed/bead blasted blade. A tip of the hat to ZT for offering these options!!!!
