New ZT/Hinderer Flipper is Coming!!!0560/0561

How much were those CF scales from Peter? I don't even have an 0560 (yet) and I already want the scale haha.

Man, I'm so jealous of you guys with your new scales from Peter. I'm still waiting for mine so hopefully it will be here tomorrow. Can't wait to try it out and post some pictures. I think I have been flicking my 0560 constantly since the day I got it. It's a perfect knife for me.

Looks great, just increases the anticipation for me. I have a LSCF and a silver twill on order from Peter, both drilled for left hand carry....can't wait!!!!!

Peter R, just tried to respond to your PM, but I got a message saying your box was full...

Just got mine on. Love it! I hope they make a CF like Thomas has on his. I love the Hinderer texturing.

I put in an order for a 0560 from knifecenter. I had read earlier some folks were getting theirs ~ a month after pre-ordering. Is that still the case?

I was hoping to sell my 0560 at a knife show this weekend in Wisconsin, but after closer examination, I am missing a screw on the g10 side, middle screw! I know it didn't come out because it's been in the box for most of it's time with me (other than showing it off a few times)

I contacted Kershaw and they were more than happy to send me out a replacement but unfortunately it won't be here in time. I asked if I could expedite the shipping but paying for it myself but no luck.

Never fear, I still have a 0561 on pre order with Dave. I picked this one up for the purpose of flipping (lol pun) it.

Got mine today. Will be hitting all the edges with some 1000 grit sand paper to bevel the edges. Was worth the wait.

I like how yours says, "Hinderer" on the LockBar Stabilizer button - and how the space between the lockbar, and the ti slab is really thin. I wonder if it's just the earlier serial'd numbered ones that are like this? I've seen some that seem to have a lot of space for the lockbar cut, and a plain silver lockbar stabilizer button. You have a "special" one, I think. Wonder if it's an early thing, and at what number did they change?

Early runs had a large gsp before being tightened up then it was too tight and the gap was expanded slightly.

The LBS button probably came off an XM. A read that a lot of people used bullet casings for their XMs and then out the original Hinderer ones on their ZTs. I seem to recall the button
is the same size on XM and Strider but not the 055x so the 056x must be larger and the same size or it had to be turned down a bit to fit.

Apropos, does anyone know what size bullet will fit? I heard a slightly turned down 9mm with the primer in and drilled as the primer hole is too large. What brand ammo comes in silver? I'll have to drive out somewhere and unload some rounds on some evil aluminum cans or something.

Silver ammo? Try Silver Bear. The cheap stuff. There's a few other companies but I just can't think right now. Maybe Wolf? I'd say a 9mm would probably fit just about perfect, but I'm just guessing by eye. I'd like some kind of custom one. I'm sure somebody on here can make some custom stabilizers for us. :D If I had a steady hand, I'd just try engraving something in the one already on the knife. Oh well, I'll keep my eyes open.

Thanks for your reply, but what is "large gsp"? I tried searching on google and BF, but couldn't figure out what you're talking about. Thanks.

Wait, I'm thinking it's a typo? "large gap"? Sorry, I'm slow - I've got a large gap in my head and wallet.

Let me know what size you need, oregonknifenerd...chances are, I may have some.

Proof of my having had to eat some crow re buying a 560/561... here is my ZT collection, including my new last Saturday 0561:

Not shown is my spare 0551 - still sporting it's clip, so you know I haven't used it... yet.

How can you be sure they are mine, you say? See any clips? ZT's are great - you have five choices for clip position - four on the knife - one in the box!

Crow isn't bad - not as gamey as condor - or as chewy as spotted owl (Hey, that's funny!). Seriously... I like this knife... the 0561 rules!

Stainz

PS I still love my 0551s... and tolerate my 0301.

If 9mm drops in someone needs to do a write up on how to do this and I need to go empty one of my 9mm shells. I was looking at a Hinderer one but they are $60. I think I can manage it myself if someone throws out some instrunctions. I think it would look pretty cool!
