New ZT/Hinderer Flipper is Coming!!!0560/0561

When is the last time a couple/few production folders have generated this much interest? Seriously, this has to somewhat unusual for any production knife to have so many this interested for so long. I can only speak for myself and the two ZT's I've bought, the 0551 and 0560 and both in my opinion set the new standard at their given price points.

yea, I don't ship that way, I am a bit Anal, it can't rattle or move around , so first I put a piece of newspaper in box to take up slack, then it gets wrapped in a piece of newspaper , then into a crush resistance box, then the label and tape covering entire box. I can ship yours in a bubble mailer if you like, LOL. :D

Mine came in a flat rate box with pop corn foam from KW, box in great shape.

I added a drop of oil & flipped it quite a bit tonight. Seems to be breaking in quite nicely.
No issues at all.
Thanks again!

...and that anal detail to shipping knives is greatly appreciated...thanks, Dave.

Loving the brown beauty...her black sibling will be here tomorrow.....thanx, kershawguy!

And from all of us knifeVultures with old hand injuries, I want to thank Thomas W and Rick Hinderer, and everybody @ ZT/Kershaw/KAI , who LISTENED when we pleaded for a Flipper.

I radioed Headquarters and they said to grab them before the flippers do and try and sell them on the exchange for jacked up prices.

I just received my second one the other day, serial #1000ish, and now have my back up knife so I'm set. I wish my detent was still as strong as it was on the new one. The new one didn't didn't have as sharp of jimping and won't need any touch up. The detent ball doesn't hang up on the edge of the blade when closing. The reason my current one, around #700, I think has such a weak detent know is because the detent ball looks like it isn't set as deep and the top of the ball looks like it has been chewed down flat a bit on top. It still fires nice and hard from the thumbstuds because of the geometry but is a bit more difficult to open with the flipper since it opens at the slightest pressure. I don't know why people prefer a lighter detent as I think these work great with the hard detent. If you have weak fingers I suppose it could be difficult, but a weaker detent isn't going to help, you'll just end up having to crack your wrist or manually push it around the rest of the way.

With the new one it looks like every issue I had has been resolved. The jimping isn't quite as sharp but is still grippy and the detent doesn't hang up. I don't know that the factory changed processes between 700 and 1000 so it may just be from the variance between each knife. I'd switch out for the new one but my current one is nicely broken in and I'm totally obsessive compulsive about keeping a safe queen even though this is a regular production knife. Anyone else have that OCD problem or am I just a bit whacked in the head [for this, not other obvious reasons!]?

My 0561, sn 018x, is fine - just a bit of de-horning the jimping was done. That was a dire necessity as it was hit by my trigger finger after every flipper deployment and my trigger finger was getting sore from fiddling with the knife. Thumb deployment, whether a design feature or not, is effective, too, just not as nice as the 0551's, which is as one would hope. My Kershaw 4001SW, sn 001x, aka Tilt, seems to open easier by far than the 0561 under flipper deployment - a bit more effort is required to thumb it open, whether that, too, was a design feature or not. The 0551's started my craziness... that ElMax is a tough act to follow. I'm not sure that the Vanax of the Tilt is as good - yet! My pair of 0551's, 0561, and 4001SW all came boxed right out of the display case of a locally owned sporting/outdoor store - yeah, I'm quite fortunate to have such a dealer locally - and I know it. Thanks to Thomas for helping to bring us these goodies and K-guy for his great service, too.
