New ZT0550 Thread !!!

Flipped the clip to the proper end already. Sweet. Delivery day can not come fast enough.

One question though. In this picture, (I hope you don't mind I posted your picture Scott) it looks like the thumbstud rests on the G-10 scale instead of the steel liner. Can you confirm or am I seeing things?

how sharp is it? lol

mannnn you luckyyyyy

It's got one of the best factory edges I've ever had. Somewhere between hair-shaving and hair-popping.

is the blade centered?

It's right on, dead center. There's nothing about this knife, in my short time drooling over it, that I would change. Absolutely perfect.

That's the best part. I didn't have to flip the clip. It came tip-up already. Just another reason this knife was and is as close to perfect as possible.

And yeah, other than kershawguy/Dave and Thomas, I'm pretty sure I WAS the first person to get one. It's the upside of living ~70 miles from the guy. Any time I want a Kershaw or ZT knife I can't get locally, I'll be going to Dave from now on.

No, I don't mind. I just didn't want to post all 23 pics in one post or else I would've. Looking at it closely, I don't think it actually rests on the G10, but it comes REALLY close. That weird mark on the G10 isn't on the knife, at least as far as I can see, but a trick of the light or a lack of expertise on my end.

2 ?,was it worth the wait? would you buy it again? you lucky dog...LOL....

Absolutely to both.

g10 doesnt seem flush against the liner....hmm

That looks like another trick of the camera to me. The the scale is rounded off on the edges and I think the light and the angle are making it look as if there's a separation there. Believe me, if any of those imperfections were noticeable in-hand, I'd be sharing them already.

Thanks Scott! You lucky dog you. I sure hope I made Dave's stand-by list. I was the first to send him an email on that, once the final two guaranteed slots were filled.

Man the Ti side in that puppy is thick! This is a home run. Outta the park!

Is the stop pin I'm seeing an open stop pin or a closed stop pin? I would assume that the thumbstuds double as the stop pins, but it appears that there is another stop pin in it's usual place as well.

EDIT: After looking at the pics again, it appears that the stop pin is for the blade in the closed position and that the thumbstuds act as the stop in the opened position.

That's how the XM's are - "stop pin is for the blade in the closed position"

I'd tend to agree, although not having mine in hand until Monday probably. The G-10 appears to slightly overlap the metal liner - it sure looks like the thumbstuds are contacting the G-10 on one side and the Ti on the other, in the open position.

I may be :foot: eating those observations upon receipt though. :)

I still don't think the thumbstud is actually touching the G10, but I could be wrong. As I said earlier, the edges of the scale are rounded off, so it's hard to tell looking at it. I'll try and take a close-up pic of that area tomorrow and see if the camera catches something my eyes didn't.

Scott,

Might try to slip a piece of paper between the thumbstud & the G-10?

Here in Resume Speed,it's not Monday yet....
