New ZT0550 Thread !!!

Best you can do is check if any online shops will have any of the sprint run, its been long awaited so any pre order is likely full.

You will also most likely be able to find one on the secondary market but expect to pay a premium.

stainless pocket clips :[

no matter!

time for some custom Ti! :D

seems like the other ones...maybe we can order one from STR without having to send it...:)

Where are the assembly robots? The torque machines? The Six Sigma process boards? :D

No shots of the G-10 scale. Are we in for a surprise?:D

Your comment made me look again at all the pictures. Interesting that all G10 sides are turned down. Hard to believe that with all those knives being assembled one might have been turned up (or is G10 facing down on the work bench a technique to avoid marking the Titanium?).

I didn't really like the brick pattern so I'm hoping Thomas changed it to plain ZT black G10.

my guess is they made the bricks "bite" better. he did say they needed to do EXTRA machining, meaning removing more material so idk. i doubt they decided to scrap the brick idea and make it all smooth

no, i wasn't kidding. i was asking a ?. could have been something else.. and no i don't know what they would use it for. i carry a Chris Reeve sebenza and mnandi, i don't believe he uses loctite.. i'm sorry i just don't know.........

Hi rolexkid -

No worries - they use the locktite on all the fasteners.

Most all of the threads here in regard to tuning and assembly of folding knives include mention of using blue loc-tite on the threads to prevent the screws from backing out - particularly the pivot screw.

best regards -

sorry guy. I thought you were kidding.

No comment on my odds of getting my hands on one of these?

Hi SpartanSaint -

I would contact a couple of the dealers that were listed in the old thread - there should be some available.

Look back in this thread, I think someone here posted that they just got on a list at a dealer.

Good luck in your hunt for the elusive 0551, sometimes that is the most exciting part.

best regards -

Thomas are you putting Rick's LBS on theese, or will it be made by ZT?, it would look pretty cool with Rick's on it.

It would be cool but all of us XM owners would be pissed....well, just a little bit maybe. :D

Hey, has anyone seen the latest issue of Tactical Knives? I just looked at it quickly in a store, but I could have sworn I saw a tiny Ad for a "ZT 0500 designed by Rick Hinderer." but the picture resembled the 0550/0551, not the current MUDD. Check it out. Maybe I'm going blind in my old age.

I saw that as well bro.Its in the Jan copy with the Hogue/Elishewitz knife, page 73.It appears to be the 0500 because it doesn't have the brick pattern of the 0551.
