Agreed.

I called Kershaw last week with some questions about my 551 and was told that:

-- The 550 is the same model, including functioning thumb studs. The only difference is the steel.

-- The 550 may not be ready for sale for six months.

Which makes me wonder about all the early sign-up lists for a product that apparently is still vapor-ware.

Thomas, please tell us if you have information to the contrary.

It seems I have posted on this multiple times, but here we go:

The 0550 is the same pattern as the 0551. There will be new steel (S35VN), and a new texture pattern on the G-10. There may be some smaller details that change as well, but have yet to be determined. This will be the production version, but like all ZT products, supply will be limited.

As to the delivery, I'd suspect it will be out May/June.

I guess I could consider buying the only flipper I would own if it comes out in this form factor These 055X's rock. It's hard to not carry mine each and every day.

Just received a NIB ZT0551 from another member here. Only had it for about an hour, but I like the way it feels in my hand. It's quite a bit smaller and flatter than I expected and that's a good thing. I have large hands, but prefer small, low-profile pocket knives.

Thomas I contacted my dealer and it seems that his wholesalers won't be able to get the ZT0551's I asked for (5-10 for me and my italian forumites of the HSL forum) he said he seems to no be able to get them

are all 1000 out already? should I look elsewhere?

No not all are out Maxx. We have a batch of around 350 pieces leaving today/tomorrow. And are doing one more batch of about 500 pieces that will happen in April. We're not taking any more orders for the 0551 at this time.
