I never thought the handle "wouldn't be" stonewashed like the blade until I saw the pics. Still very pretty though. I guess you can't have everything. :(

Woah woah woah... this shall not slide to page 2...

Need this to be right in view of Thomas so he will be more likely to post pictures!

I have been looking at the pics Thomas posted earlier in the thread. I really hard eyeballed 'em this time. I have to say at first I didn't like the G-10 pattern but now it's looking real classy to me anyway.

The lockup in the knife he assembled was solid and early. Jimping is just right. The blade, not having a choil of any size offers a very large cutting surface and the grind is extraordinary.

I'm more impressed each time I look at this knife. This has to be one of the most memorable collaborations that I've seen in a production knife.

I'm very excited and looking forward to my long awaited package arriving in the mail! :D

I have to agree Cziv, I didn't like the brick pattern G10 at first but it really looks awesome. Cant wait to get this sweet little knife soon.

Over 109,000 views....lots of people checking this thread out

I have liked the look of the brick pattern G10 since the beginning, and like it even more now. Since the Ti scale isn't stonewashed, I think I'll give it the Scotchbrite treatment. That will give it a matte finish and it won't show scratches as easily. This will be a fantastic EDC folder! I can't wait!:D

Hey, if you do, be sure to show pics and tell a bit about the procedure. I have every Scotchbrite grit pad made but I'd hate like h*ll to take them to this brand new ZT 0551 w/o some serious guidance. ;)

mine will be getting hit with the scotchbrite pad as well... as i mentioned and pointed out earlier the titanium does scratch easily.

theres no real science to it, the rougher the grit you use, the better it will hide the scratches. some people scrub in small circles, or you can just go up and down the frame in a line. if you don't like one way, just go over those scratches using the other motion.

no real way to mess it up, and look at it this way, if youre gonna use it..it WILL get scratched up, so dont sweat it and just be sure to tape over your screws and blade if you decide to not take it apart.

That's what I was posting about - so do the Scotchbrite pads. I have some that are so tough, they'll make a razor sharp blade, butterknife dull just by putting a finish on it.

I don't know what color (grades/grits) of the pads you guys use. Post pics okay? Not the pads - the handles. :D

lol, will do

Hahaha, good save.

Seems like there's not much chance of this thread getting to page 3 until long after these knives hit the shelves. :D

First of all please read this whole post before you go nuts, I have got all email addresses written in a tablet for 0551 preorder list and the standby (overflow) list, that being said, I had a comp. problem today and I lost all emails after the 23rd of last month and those of you that wanted to be on the 0550 production model list that may have emailed me on or around that date, should do it again, I did not have the 0550 requests written down, to repeat this is only for the 0550 ( next years model) not the 0551 that is coming to a location near you soon. :):)
