New ZT0550!!!

Put me down for one of these in satin or stonewashed finish! I have an XM with the spanto blade, but have always wanted one that had the "drop point' style. This will fill the void. Bought my first ZT this year and I really like the fit, finish, and overall quality. Only downside to all of this is it is going to be months till it is released.

A little squirrel told me that these won't be released until 2011!!!

I hope that is not the case. I don't think I can wait that long.... :(

I think it's VERY reliable.

And no, I am not about to out the person who told me this. Let's just say, he's a respected member of this forum...

If we follow along with Tony's logic its clear that Rick and ZT will come out with a 3.75 inch version of this knife. That should sell like marijuana brownies at a "WHO" concert.

I hope so. What a waste to be limited to 3 or 3.25" - a deal breaker for a lot more people than me. :(

I mean, is it possible that Thomas comes along and says something different about a possible release date? That could happen.

I want one of these knives just as bad as anyone on here. And I am not about to start making stuff up. Just so y'all know.. ;)

He is here :)

If this knife sells like hotcakes, which it should given the known attributes (collab, steel, ergos, etc.) I would hope a larger version would soon be in the works. However, one must also consider not all areas have the same knife laws. Can't have some people showing up at work with a 4.5" folder at the office just to "slice oranges".

What he said!!

Well in the last week or however long I've known about this knife I have gone from pretty excited to can't wait to get this knife! It really does fill a nice void for me in most every aspect. I have pleaded with Thomas to make a ZT 350 with a Ti framelock for months on release threads like these and its finally coming true except in the shape of a whole new and improved knife! I'm stoked. As far as the blade size goes, that is the thing that I am most excited about. 3.3" is my ideal blade length for weekend knives such as this and finally someone has come out with a good quality pimpalicious framelock in that size at a reasonable price.

Honestly it looks just about perfect to me. I would definately like to see it surface with a stonewash finish (a polished stonewash would be the ultimate) which it sounds like it will. The only thing that would make this knife cooler is if it came out with a different color scale variant or two. It sounds like ZT will be using this knife as a sort of mule and making multiple different variations. I would absolutely love to see a micarta scales variation be it canvas or linen. Green would be pretty sweet, or sculpted carbon fiber! I would definately like to see atleast an orange g10 model. Either way I'll buy one and make a scale if I have to but I'm pretty excited.

I read over on USN that this knife is about 'six weeks away', so who knows when it will be released.. ;)

good luck getting that one in your pocket.

Good Luck, your kidding right? Haven't you read all of the previous posts requesting the same thing? It's not unheard of at all. I normally don't carry anything less than 3.5" to 4", except for fingernail trimmers.

Rick, Please give us tactical folder guys a 550 with more than 3.25" blade! It's a bada** looking knife with a gentleman's folder size blade.

Sounds great Rick. Eagerly awaiting.

As stated in the other posts, I like the non recurve blade. I always had a soft spot for the zt line but their previous models were too big and heavy for me so I never considered getting one. If this is a lot lighter that will change.

I'm on the fence on the glass breaker but there seem to be quite a few people who don't care for it. Stupid question but is it possible to design one a breaker with a screw and/or loctightthat could be removed if the user doesn't want it?

Oh man! It's been literally YEARS since I've been excited about a new knife design. THIS one though (and a new one from Spyderco) got me worked-up!
