lets get a move on!!!

EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW small looking pivot, guess I'll hold out and try to get my hands on a 3.5 Xm-18 flipper.

how is it that some people change the color of the Ti with a torch without ruining whatever temper it might have...ive seen it on some other ZT's....might look good on this too but idk how difficult it is to do safely

COME ON HUGE PIVOT! I'll buy 2 of them!

Yeah I'm just hoping the surprise is the bigger pivot, making it a harder use knife....

Personally if it has that small pivot I'll go with a 300/301/302 instead. Almost all ZT's if not all have HUGE pivots same with the XM-18 it's that strider bull pivot.

Good God! Enough about the pivot already. Get one in hand before you decide it's not good enough for you. What are you planning on doing with this knife to jump to the ridiculous conclusion that the pivot you see will not be good or strong enough for your needs?

If I remember correctly, Ti scales aren't heat treated so you can heat Ti to the point that it will change color and not worry about weakening the physical structure or integrity of the metal.

I'm having a hard time understanding the pivot obsession as well.

Do you know how strong a fastener that size is? It is many, many times stronger than any force you can produce. Even with a 10 foot cheater bar I bet you would have a hard time shearing a knife pivot of that size.

How many pictures have you seen of knife failures? How many of those were because the pivot failed? I have been on here a long time and I have yet to see a pivot failure. I guarantee the frame lock will fail long before the pivot will. I'm sure there will be a lot of people fighting over that knife you are passing up because of some irrational concern about the pivot size.

+1.......I can't remember the last time I said..."hey, I wish this knife had a bigger pivot... beacuse.... um..... well I have no idea why, because I have never broken a pivot... not even the time I took a sledge hammer to the pivot section of a Kershaw Leek". Besides.... the pivot in that pic is a pretty big pivot so far as non sleeved or non bushing pivots go. All you pivot hounds, CHILL. This one will be all you will ever need and more..... what's further.... If you break it, and you aren't being a complete re-tread, KAI will FIX IT FOR FREE.... "oh yeah, I forgot that KAI has one of the best warranties in the business".....:D

It is possible that some of the concern is for the looks of it. I guess if I were to buy this knife and wanted it to be the ultimate in badassness I would want it to have a huge pivot. That way I could say that even the pivot was specially designed to... when showing it off.

And no, I am not simply being sarcastic. I do thing there is some, perhaps illogical, attraction to the large pivot on the ZT300 etc.
