This is a knife that is going to be popular in my platoon. Can't wait to get my hands on one!

So now I have a great reason to post in this thread!

Ain't that the truth! :D
Plus it could be the quickest way to get one's hands on this. At 40+ pages of comments, the line to purchase may be a tad long.

Like most of us, I'm really looking forward to this one...and maybe some variants to follow??

Rick Hinderer is a 1st class guy and Kershaws ZT line is great so with those 2 together this will be one fine folder! I am looking forward to it. I have been keeping up with this post all along but with my MOM being VERY SICK I have not posted in over 2 weeks. She had a Stroke this time last year and I got lucky right after that and got a 3 inch XM 18 thanks to Rick Hinderer and it made me happy during a tough time. Now she has had another stroke and it was way worse than the one last year. I just want to Thank Rick Hinderer for being 1st class! I know this 550 is going to be a hit.
Thanks. Kevin

I cannot wait for this one to come out! I've been wanting to pick up a ZT, but couldn't decide which one to get. I think this will be my choice.

I'll need one of these to go along with my other ZT knives, their lonely and need a new stable mate.

I have a 0200,0400,0350,and an SKD0360. Can't have enough ZT quality knives and I'm know this one may be the best yet. :)

I've been shopping for another ZT0350, not anymore! I'm waiting for this one. Looks likes a seriously great knife. Built like a tank!

Yeah I can only check this site on weekends right now (due to my job) and this thread always gives me something to look forward to!

This will definitely be a welcomed addition to go along with my other four ZT's (0121, 0300, 0350CB and 0500). They're all eagerly awaiting their new family member!

I own a ZT200 and 350 plus was fortunate enough to recently add a XM-18 to my EDC rotation:D Now I'm looking forward to seeing the result of ZT and Hinderer coming together. So lets ramp up that production line already!

Went through all 43 pages, and I don't think I saw anything about weight. Any estimates on weight?

I was wandering the same thing. Is the weight going to be similar to the 0300 series since the size is really close as well?

Since we've all been following this wonder knife. Is there a list to put our name down to know for sure we can buy one? I don't care about the weight and I don't mind the wait.
Thanks

Mr Rick Hinder where are the pictures you promised?

If you need a hand model, just send me the knife and I'
ll be happy to pose for you.

Anything to get my hands on one early!

Common Sense...The Rarest Of All Senses:cool:

Ok guys here are some more pics of the prototype 0550....we've all seen the 0550 in photos sitting on a background all nice and clean...I took my sample out today and did a few light cutting chores with it such as cutting branches in half, whittleing a sharp end on branches and such. In the photos you will see that my hand is able to get far up on the blade while still being firmly on the handle...you have a really powerful downstroke using this folder, as well as alot of fine control with the tip. And with a final picture of a dirty knife! As some of you know I love nothing more than a used heavy duty knife!
