Knife looks like a winner in my book.

Does this mean there's going to be a total of 6 ZT's released this year?
ZT-9
RJ Martin fixed blade
3 folders we were already shown
0550

If so thats really cool. ZT has/is putting out some really nice designs. Go ZT!

I've seen some pics of the ZT's stand at the 2010 blade show. I've seen a knife looking as a fixed on the left from the new RJ Martin collabo. It seems to be smaller than 0100, but seems bigger than 0150 and 0121.

I might be wrong, but I think we'll see a medium size fixed from ZT!!!

I really like this knife and own some ZT's and a Hinderer but there is 1 thing I don't get.
Why make a 5mm or something like that lockbar and then mill it down to 1mm so that it can bend over.Maybe 2 or 3mm were possible.

I'm afraid something like this might happen:

love the ZT line, and the 550 is sharp looking...i'm pretty satisfied with my 500 though (and my 100 and 121 fixed); i don't buy just to buy...but if i were in the market, i'd definitely get one...

There has to be a cutout in lockbar in order to bend it. And it has to have a certain thickness, otherwise you won't be able to bend it.
So the issue with the lockbar buckling like in the picture you showed, I think it's because the cutout on that knife is very wide. On the Kershaw only a semicircle is cut out, so the thin part is much more narrow.

GO kershaw GO ZT! i'm really becoming a kershaw guy yeah!
my wishlist is getting even bigger

I know there has to be a cutout but on other knives it's a lot thicker.
I agree with your concern! Especially after hearing from several people on here that complained about this exact problem with the Benchmade 755. Apparently the cutout there was too thin!

Just when I thought I could be satisfied with my current lineup of knives, this has to be announced. No kidding, aside from an absence of a large fixed-blade/chopper, I was content with the knives I had, their capabilities and the roles they filled. Now this one has to go into my lineup somewhere... it just HAS to!

Try not to get too caught up on the proto in the picture. It's just that, a proto. I have yet to see a ZT frame lock failure, nor do I expect to. :) We're dialed in really well with how to make a framelock, and test for failure. No worries with this piece.

How was that knife being used when that happened? From the looks of it the lack didn't fail as it appears to be still keeping the blade in the open position.
This sounds like a new thread.
