I have been to the Dr. for carpal tunnel syndrome from bumping this thread back to top 50 times a day :D:D:D
 
I'd laugh my you know what off if PropThePolecat came along and locked the thread he started. :D Everyone would lose their friggin minds! :eek: I mean I'm excited for the knife, but this thread is usually just bumped for the sake of bumping.

That would suck indeed. I checked on PropThePolecat and if he/she was active, seems that he/she was in the ESEE forum admiring Izulas that someone spray painted skulls on - strange topic for my tastes. :confused:

I'm getting my dad a 0551 for a X-mas gift this year, been trying to keep this one off his radar when we BS about knives...mind you he loves them but he doesn't keep up with the custom makers and such...just high end production options....

...so he comes to me the other day and goes "Son I really like all those titanium frame locks you have...I think I might have to get one...that ZT300 is too big but apparently ZT has a new one coming out from some guy named Hinderer..."

Best laid plans :(

Awww man that sucks. I would do something drastic like give him one of my knives to keep his mind occupied until I could get him an 0551. Hey J, congrats on the upcoming 4000th post!!

Here a question I have for all you guys that have a 551 on order...whats your planned use for the knife? duty knife? EDC hard use knife? work knife on a farm? hunting blade? you know what I mean? Of course I have been using my prototype on the ranch doing outdoor chores in the woods,down by the ponds and around the shop chores, cutting open boxes, cutting up corrogated to take to recycleing..things like that...so let us know what you all are planning on doing with your 551's! As alot of people who have Hinderer knives know I absolutly love to hear about the hard use they put my knives through!

Heavy duty farm use! Cutting whatever needs to be cut - rope, fiberglass sheeting ( crop covering), heavy flexible vinyl irrigation tubing, wire ties. Also in the field cutting product. It won't be a pretty life, but it will be a happy one!
That is if I get one - I was a little late and got on the standby list! Here's hoping someone drops out! ( yea, right:()
 
I'm going to use mine for all the heavy duty work a middle manager has to do cutting stuff. ;)

Unfortunately it won't help in cutting red-tape.:D
