New ZT's for 2017 what do you love?

I think the 920 is pretty nice. The 801 is a great design too.

I too wish there were more Emerson collabs. It is awesome to have access to Emerson framelocks, I still want an Emerson produced framelock.

They should make a SnG collab already. I never liked those Ken Onion/Strider collabs.

The Kershaw Barstow looks neat to me. It can be waved open with that double guard on the wave.

I've never owned a ZT knife. Looks like they're all in the $200+ price range. Other than being made in the USA, are they really that "superior" in terms of materials/workmanship/design?

A lot of their designs are a little too fancy for my taste.

Thanks for posting this.

I'm excited to be able to try design collaborations from GTC-0055, Sinkevich-0460 and George-0920. I'm actually excited to see new designs that aren't the same old thing. And collaborations that allow me to try products designed by custom makers that I'd never be able to afford.

And yes, I admit it, I'm a fan of ZT and KAI. :D

So, if there are so many naysayers here then it should be a quiet year with no complaining about knives that you wouldn't buy, correct?

On top of looking forward to snagging as many of the ZT offerings as I can, I am looking forward to the lack of complaining that is sure to ensue!

For me, I am really looking forward to getting the 0850.

I just hope all those who are passing on the 2017 line up really do so, that way it'll be easier for me to pick them all up.

Hate to rain on your 2017, but as long as people ask "What do you think of them?", people will answer. :o

Really stoked for the 0850! It's a manual opener on washers - a rare thing these days. It also has a sub framelock which I love. I hope this one drops relatively soon after SHOT.

ZT 0460 designed by Dmitry Sinkevich fills in a gap where you wanted a ZT 0450 with CF but no DLC. Of course, you get that nice blade shape and for bonus points no extra holes for clips or lanyard. Easy $180 EDC weighing just 2.3 ounces. 3.25" blade of S35VN that's 0.12" thick.

The 850 is by far my favorite, I will go against the grain here and say I really like the more "art knife" designs they have been using lately. Just because they are pretty does not mean they cannot take a serious beating. Life is much too short to carry ugly knives and firearms.

The Dmitry Sinkevich/Todd Rexford collaboration ZT 0850 is nothing short of a ZT LE with lots of aesthetically pleasing design cues. For a folder with a 3.75" blade of premium CPM-20CV it weighs just 4.3 ounces! MAP is $320 but you're getting a full CF with sub-frame lock and titanium clip. Also, wins bonus points for no extra clip holes and lanyard hole! A must have! See page 10 of the 2017 ZT Catalog: https://zt.kaiusaltd.com/pdfs/catalogs/ZT_2017.pdf

I don't know why people keep saying "art knife". So if it isn't a folding prybar Hinderer collaboration that's .0050" thick behind the edge it's an art knife? I'm definitely with you here, I love that ZT's releasing knives that can actually cut somewhat decently.

People are funny.

i cannot wait for this knife.... the 0450 is my fav knife of all time
this might take the crown away

0850 looks like a winner to me. I'm very curious to know if it has washers or bearings, because nowhere does the literature mention bearings. To be honest, I'd be happy if it was on washers.

The SLT flipper technology looks pretty awesome, although I'm not a fan of the blade shape on the 0055.

Also, the Kershaw Natrix is absolutely the funniest thing I've seen in quite a while. Good on them.

Ha! Taking aim at Microtech I see. Almost seems more like something you'd see out of them on April 1st.
