Nice features on new A G Russell Ti Framelock..

Many of us have high hopes for this knife. Optomistic? Yeah, maybe.
But you haters out there, why hate? Don't hack it 'til you've actually handled the knife in person.

+1. We can try to give them a clue, its up to them to get it. ;) Otherwise they'll remain a Troll, IMO.

Sorry, I'm not giving a platinum member who joined in 2002, with 1200+ posts, an easy out like a normal garden variety ignorant troll. He knows good and well who and what Kershaw does, and he can't play dumb to backpedal his blatant slander.

Before you said it, Curd, I didn't notice that he was a member since 2002. In that case his ignorance of Kershaw is inconceivable, to put it mildly. Kinda sad, in a way...

Also there is the other guy who pretends to know more than the rest of us and condescends to teach us what is needed or not needed in a knife...

If they already know so much (not!) then why do these people still lurk in this forum? I can't get it...

If there is any question as to what Kershaw can produce I offer this:

Contrary to what the CR elitists say, I dig the knife. Am I the only guy on the planet who HATES CR, ZT and Strider style pocket clips ? This knife, preferentially speaking, gets it right.

I'm glad I don't run a knife company. Make it offshore and everyone screams. Make it in the US and everyone screams. Hard to win. :(

A fair price for a copy whether it be a Rolex or a Sebenza is about 10% of the original.
That is YOUR fair price
Others may differ
You are making it sound like all should follow your 10% rule
Why should I care what your rule of thumb is??

I look at is as pricing it to the closest substitute product
It is an alternative to a Sebenza
So..they priced it closer to the Sebenza
It's actually pretty much Pricing 101
What prices are competitors charging?
Do price points already exist for the product category?
1) Reference Price Effect[2]
Buyer’s price sensitivity for a given product increases the higher the product’s price relative to perceived alternatives. Perceived alternatives can vary by buyer segment, by occasion, and other factors
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pricing

Looks like a nice knife to me:thumbup:
I'm sure it will sell well...

Well let's just say it's not always smiles and lollipops on public forums. Usually just takes a few to make something solid go sideways.

Hey, at least you know it's bound to happen. :)

This is the General Knife Discussion, not Whine & Cheese, not the Roman Colosseum. We can disagree without being disagreeable. We can express different opinions without fighting and insulting each other.

That's not just my opinion. It's Bladeforums policy.

Yikes! That was right in my ear Esav!

:)

If it makes any of you feel better, I talked with and showed this knife to Chris Reeve at SHOT. He liked it.

Oh, but he did state, (very strongly I might add), that he felt the Sebi was better. :D

Have to love Chris, I'll say he has a way with words, even if 3/4's of them are four letters long. :D

I'm not surprised. This is the man who developed the framelock, and tossed the idea out there for everyone else to use.

Have to ask a question, can anyone custom maker, production or anyone in between make a folder with solid titanium slabs on both sides and it not be called a sebenza copy? I'm just asking because their sure does seem to be a lot of experts on here who can render these kinds of absolute decisions.

Ernest Emerson does on rare occasion make full Titanium versions (6Al-4V on both slabs) of the CQC-12 and HD-7.

I have never heard of either knife being called a "Sebenza copy".

I have a few comments,
1. Why would anyone post this in the CRK forums? Just to cause Chris or Ann pain? what a jerk.

2. I am sorry that my friend Harry does not know that Kershaw has the most "State of the Art" operation in this country and in my opinion were the only folks who could make the knife as well as I wanted it made. It took several tries but they finally got it like I wanted it.

3.Kershaw agreed to make 1,000 and have reduced that to 6xx so I am not worried about selling them all. If Kershaw does not agree to make more of them I will have to move the work to Taiwan or China.

4. I looked for the best features for the insides of the knife and found them. I never need help with the lines of a knife and any one who looks at my knife and sees someone else's design, in my opinion needs eyeglasses.

Kershaw tells me that they did not make OEM knives but would for me, I am truly proud of that and hope that they will continue to do so, this design or others.

Is it not funny, the folks who for what ever reason hate me just bring out more and more people who will stand up for me. Thanks to you all.
