NMSFNO Pics!!!!.. . . . .

This knife is exactly the same dimensions as the original except for 1 additional inch of blade. The Melt Down treatment is killer cool on this model ! ! ! !

Jerry :D

.

The Boss says everything we need to know right there. The under-appreciated SFNO has a face-lift for the ages. Killler cool arctic white destruction!

Not sure if I'm feeling this variation. One of the things that makes the SFNO so beautiful to me is the proportional difference between the blade and the handle. At first (and second and third) glance this seems a bit too long in the blade. I feel similarly about the SJTac/BATac. Guess I'm one of the odd men out on this. Hafta wait and see, though.

+1! I love the SFNO because the proportional size between blade and handle. I think I don't like it as much as the sabre outlaw. So more for outlaws for you.

At least (1) sage and black hand shaped here, and who knows  :foot:

Any idea what the artic will look like? Has it ever been done before on another knife?

Yes...there is another thread nearby with pics of the Arctic finish. It's been a while since this finish was offered and it may be the first time as a production finish....not 100% on that though.

I think I may need one of these for my new combat knife...
Jerry, you wanna make another delivery to an APO address>???

Props on the rounded edges near holes, a great innovation for cord-guys.

Just ordered mine. Will be my first Busse. I have been wanting one for years but never seem to check at the right time. I have Sage finish and black satin coming my way.

what are your thoughts guys?

I like these guys. The new one is cool, but it's just another steroid job. These shorter ones come out of a sheath a lot easier. What I'd like is a RAT-7 from Krypton, not another Battle Mistress give or take a few inches. Still the new model may be a great one, it's just hard to tell from the distorted angle pix they posted so far.

Im having trouble finding out the blade depth on this. I like the 2 inch blade depth of the ASH-1. Is the NMSFNO 2 inch as well?

Yeah, can't wait till it gets here.

Did Amy or Jerry put out an approximate time of delivery on these?

When I talked to Kendra she said 8-12 weeks, and I can't wait. I ordered only one this time, and I know I'm going to regret this. The home move is eating a hole in the fun money:grumpy:.

Jerry, as far as I'm concerned you hit the jackpot. I have loved the hilt design of the SFNO ever since I got to hold one, but preferred the blade length of the FSH/HHFSH. IMO this is the ultimate knife:thumbup:. I will have to get another later and I will pay for it I know, but that's the way it is at the moment.

EDIT: I'm in for a few. Just wanted some sort of catalog of future offerings so I can plan it out in my fun budget. These pop up offerings are to me are like a bigger extended ganza. Which I cannot resist.
Darn INFI addicition!

I think these are the NMSFNO, the blade looks a little longer than the SFNOs above it. From this perspective it looks much nicer than the blade-large perspective on the bussecombat site.

Well, despite my disappointment that they did not keep the tried and true SFNO the way many of us liked it, I broke down and bought one anyways, just to check it out in person, and because the price was right. Jungle Green blade with black canvas micarta magnum handles, hand shaped, of course. We'll see when it lands. Honestly, I would rather have seen a re-release of the original SFNO, but, you know what? Here's a reason I'm glad it didn't play out that way:

I wasn't impressed with the options. The addition of hand-shaped handles is a great addition, but besides that, there was no satin blade option except for the excessively priced LE, and no double-cut either. Combat grade SFNO's are not that hard to find, and aren't that exciting IMHO with their coated blades and regular handles (in both sizes). Had the SFNO been re-released with this current set of options, I wouldn't have been that excited anyways.

I'm still not clear on the whole zero edge/convex grind/convex edge thing. My understanding is that Jerry did something special to these SFNO's along those lines, like maybe the kind of grind and edge the CE Sarsquatch got. But I don't really get what is different about this run in terms of the grind and edge. Can someone help out? Whatever it is, I remember thinking, "Yeah, that will be great!" when I read about it, so maybe there is another good addition there to this run.

Even with a new grind/edge treatment, the nuclear meltdown, and the hand-shaped handles (which is different form nuclear meltdown if I understand them correctly), I still would not have been that excited about SFNO's with coated blades.

Sooo, my hope is that the original SFNO WILL be re-released one day, but with the proper options:

1) Satin blade option for an extra $35 (or $50 if it really is that much of a pain in the ass to satin finish rough INFI)
2) Convex edge or grind (not sure which) like what the CE Squatch got (and maybe this one already has that)
3) Keep the hand-shaped handles and the meltdown treatment
4) Offer DC as well, but satin is more important.

Optional:
5) Sabre grind (may conflict with convex/zero edges listed above)
6) Custom handle options. Lots of 'em. Offer 20 different kinds of handles, such as the ones found on custom SFNO's: 2 tone combination colors/materials, 3-piece stabilized wood, mosaic pins in black and other colors. Charge $100 extra for this option.

If you do it this way, you let people really build the SFNO they want, from a predetermined set of limited options. Someone could get a basic SFNO with a coated blade for $335, or someone could get hand-shaped handles and the satin blade option for $410, or someone could add custom handles to that config for a total of $510.

The way it is now, I can't really see spending an extra $250 just to get a satin blade and a number on the blade.

I like the melt job on the lanyard holes, but I wish they hadn't rounded the spine of the blade. The heavy blade coating blunts the spine edges enough all by itself.
