I have not a spec of desire for a folder Not sure why a couple years ago I just started buying fixed blades and that is all I'm looking forward to! Anyone else feel this way?

Take a look in here for those that EDC a fixed blade.

Is there a particular reason as to why you came to this decision?

I'm a fan of fixed blades too:

But no, I don't feel the same way as you do about folders:

Every year or 2 I start looking for a cool smaller fixed blade to edc and then make a purchase. They always end up sitting in my knife drawer unused and then after a couple months get sold for money to buy a folder, lol

I feel like I should have at least one decent fixed blade but they just don't seem to fit into my carry habits and daily gym shorts and t shirt lifestyle. It's so easy to just clip a folder into my waistband and move on with my day. Currently I only have an Izula I bought 6 years ago and haven't carried once. It sits sheathed in my gym bag all these years lol

Gotta have a public friendly slipjoint to accompany my fixed blade... But yeah, I'm with you.

An emphatic NOPE here.
I have one fantastic EDC fixed blade. The Guardian 3 in 3v with horizontal sheath. Great great knife that gets carried couple times a week, but is always joined by 2 or 3 folders.
1 fixed & ~ 50 folding for me.

Small fixed blade or a slip joint for me.

Liner locks, frame locks while awesome just sit in the drawer these days.

I used to only have my folders and machetes. Right now I am going through a fixed blades phase. They are really nice for farm work!!! Even the smaller fixed blades. On the other hand, I still love my folding knives and would not go without one. I love both.

FOLDER... for me.
At times, I EDC a ARLT XL. I just love this lil kiridashi.

I went through that phase about 15 years ago till my employer etc banned me from carrying fixed blades then I went back to folders. If I could I sure as heck would go back to fixed blades.

I have a couple fixed blades but hardly carry them...I carry folders/autos these days. But I don't look diff at people that use/carry fixed blades either...they are still tools that get jobs done.

Started gravitating towards fixed and steadily continuing in that direction for the last three years or so. I guess I settled into Spyderco for my folders, found the few models that work well for me and cycle between those.

Have found maybe a dozen fixed blades that I absolutely enjoy using and still get that same satisfaction every time I pick them up, but, as these things go, am always on the lookout for another one. :D

I'm very much a folder guy, but the pic of brancron's fixed blades is making me want 10 or 12..

I like both folders and fixed. Folders for urban carry and fixed for woods carry.

No more folders for me, either. I have no need for fixed blades other than kitchen knives, and I have enough kitchen knives.
