. No reason to ever carry a knife!

Wasn't there a guy on Youtube who built some super crude homemade guns and turned them in for a few hundred bucks? I thought that was pretty amusing.
I'll have to check that out. Good for him!
I remember one guy turned in an RPG one year. Hilarious!

If politicians are so concerned about citizens being harmed by edged weapons, why don’t they just implement a law forcing everyone to wear full body nerf suits lined with Kevlar?

The same people banned citizens from owning body armor.

Well, probably because they already went down a path that left only criminals and politicians being able to defend themselves , and people can see glaring similarities in their own locales.

Wait I thought knives weren't for self defense

So if I'm in the UK I can use my knife for self defense but if I'm on say Topeka I can't?

You notice no one from London is commenting, ya know the people this law actually effects. I'll wager that when the people of London want different laws they'll elect different local pols.

And I never understood why people worry over what's going on in a city in a country they don't live in.

Uhhh, because it sets a precedent that certain political persons in this country would love to follow.

Uhh, because it shows how far a government will go to leave the inmates, excuse me, 'citizens' completely defenseless so they have to rely even more on the 'system' to protect them.

Because it's the difference between subjects and citizens.

If you ask that question, you need to go study the Constitution that our founding fathers risked hanging for treason to write.

While cultural and economic differences make comparisons imperfect, there are things we can learn from others as they adopt certain policies. We "worry" because even with bad consequences there, some misguided political and cultural leaders here keep saying "let's be like those people over there".

You really think the people had a say in this?
You think people actually believe rape is no reason to defend yourself?

o_O:confused:

A knife is a tool, it can be used for various things. If your life is at risk you'll probably carry whatever you can, and if its in jeopardy you'll probably use whatever you've got.

If you can't see the similarities, or irony, then I don't know what else to tell you. It is VERY relevant to everyone....everywhere.

Many of them lost finances, property, family, being ostracized, or worse.

It's the UK, so... really what can be said of that once great nation at this point? While some actually point to the UK as some sort of example we in the US should follow, I view it a perfect example of a country NOT to follow (insert Orwell quote, who was a Britt, here...) and don't give a damn what they do at this point. I fear they are too far gone to ever realize the error of their ways here.

And yours is a perfect example why I ****ING hate threads like this. It's a way for people to feel superiority and righteousness and slander a nation and its people.

Everytime there's a mass shooting in the USA do Brits go on knife and survival sites and tell you how you've got it wrong? Maybe you need to arm kindergarten children with puppy pistols, Uzicorns and what have you's?

Look at the murder rates in the UK and USA, you will find the UK safer by a big margin.

There is a mass shooting in the UK roughly every 20 years, how many times in a year in the USA?

Our weapon laws do not stop us from having some of the best special forces and military in the world, for which the USA has gratefully received my country's help over the recent years. A nation of pussies are we?

Sadgitt Kant's comments on carrying a knife in London is about weapon carry, not lawful reason to carry, for which many Londoners use that right every day.

So.....you agree with the Police statement that being raped is no reason to defend yourself?

When did the English become such pansies? From a world power to a neutered populace who aren't allowed the basic right of self defense in just a couple of generations. It's pathetic.
