We need a Becker Texas Gathering. I looked at the west one and it's 2,200 miles away from me. Ugh........ would have to plan a whole week just to get there and back.
I don't feel comfortable flying with my blades. Damn TSA.

17° out now, and with 31mph winds, it feels like -3°. Freakin' wind is strong. 31 sustained, gusting to 55mph.

Well, Dex, it's just as far for me, and driving isn't an option! :D Those gatherings look like more fun than I'd know how to handle. That and I don't know anybody else here that owns Beckers, so a Hawaii gathering is out of the question for now.

Since I keep having the ad for it pop up, anybody have an opinion on WorkSharp's Field Sharpener? I've seen it at one of my local toy stores a while ago and took a good look at it. Intriguing, to say the least.

I hear ya. But man I'd fly to a Hawaii gathering!! Make it a week long event for all Beckerheads! That would be one trip to remember.......

Alright Warrior........... Those awesome pics out in woods with that Espresso maker really makes me want to hit the buy now button. I found an aluminum one and a stainless one within a dollar difference shipped...... Should I go for one over the other? Im thinking stainless........ Ugh....... I really need go get off the computer and go to sleep before I order this thing tonight in my insomniac state.

I only know about the one the wife has. One thing about these, you have to make sure you set the flame very low, and take it off the heat as soon as it's done. Otherwise, you can melt the rubber gasket in them.

Sounds good. Thanks for all the info.

So I ordered a Maxpedition Condor II in khaki, and a 3 litre CamelBak Antidote bladder with a cleaning kit. My family is paying for it, it's going to be for my birthday next month.

Sweet. We'll need photos.

I'm putting your name on the sign up sheet Dex! :D

Happy Monday, you lunatics!

I'm not so sure about that. The first time I went to SMKW (in E TN), we saw a car with Hawaii plates in the parking lot.

Pffffft!! It was -11 without the windchill on my way to work tonight and its -19 now, -42 with the wind chill. I do suppose that it does suck when its not something you are used to. I get pissy when we hit the mid to upper 80's here in the summer. My lungs do kinda hurt right now though. I got to huffin and puffin a few times tonight in this cold which isn't a good idea. My brakes were frozen on my trailer when I hooked onto it, so I was crawling around underneath it pounding on the brake drums with a hammer trying to get them to release. After that I got stuck and couldn't pull up out of my dock, so I had to get someone to pull me out. The roads turned out to be pretty good except for a few spots with some pretty impressive drifts that woulda stopped my in my tracks, but there was barely enough shoulder left to maneuver around them. A semi can go through a lot once its moving, but 4' snow drifts would have stopped me dead in my tracks!!!

I'll second the Happy Monday!!

I would imagine that the car you saw belonged to a soldier from Ft. Campbell, KY, freshly reassigned from the 25th Infantry (in Hawaii) to the 101st Air Assault (Ft. Campbell). The gub'ment will ship one of your cars back and forth for free, so you'll see the occasional plate from Hawaii around any military installation.

Ahh, that makes sense! I were cunfuzed because if it was just someone from HI on vacation, surely it would be cheaper to fly over and rent a car than to ship your vehicle and drive...

See, I learned something today. Now I can go back to bed, right? :p
