Man.......... Just finished watching Metallica and Lang Lang F&*$ up a great song at the Grammys. ......... And just to think, they were the reason I picked up the Guitar 20 years ago.

lol Dex, for the ones that started with F em all and all the earlier albums, the newer stuff is so lame.. I know they are all rich and famous and all, but And justice for all was the last "good" album.. the last album they put out had a few decent throwback sounding songs, but nothing to compare the good ole days.. I think I wore out 4 or 5 And Justice.. cassettes.

I was over at my Mom's place a couple of weeks ago and found my Dad's old True Temper axe under a pile of leaves behind the shed. It was the last tool he used as he was splitting kindling the morning of the day he passed away. It had been there rusting away under some leaves for four years. I didn't take a picture before I started on it, but just finished restoring it. It's a great small axe and will be my carry then be passed on to my son then hopefully his son.

I was reading my Knife Rights email, and I am flabbergasted and appalled! You poor Aussies!

Can I sell any kind of knife to someone under 18? What about kitchen knives or a plastic knife?

A: It's an offence for anyone under 18 to buy any kind of knife, or any other controlled weapon. This includes kitchen knives, bread and butter knives, box cutters and even plastic knives. If a child [anyone under 18] needs a knife for a legitimate reason, such as for work, they will need to get their parent or guardian to purchase the knives for them. There are no exceptions. If you or one of your staff knowingly sell a knife or other controlled weapon to a child, you or your staff member can face a fine of up to $2,389. *
*
Also:* Anyone under 18 who purchases a knife faces a $239 on-the-spot fine or they could face court and a fine of up to $1,433.
*
Additionally, even more chilling, "you can be searched for knives in a public place anywhere, anytime, with and without notice. If you are 16 and over and get caught carrying a controlled weapon such as a knife, you face an on the spot fine of $1,000, or you may have to go to court and face a fine of over $14,000 or one year imprisonment. This penalty is doubled if you are inside or within 20 metres of a pub, club or bar."

That's Real???? Man I've been carrying a knife since I was 6 years old. Insane.

I hear that. Ride the Lightning was my favorite one. I did like The Black Album and don't judge me....haha...... Load. After that I couldn't take it. And That St anger thing....... They wouldn't let poor Kirt even play one solo!! lol How lame is that. haha
The first 4 albums were the best for sure. Ah..... the good ol days.

Your first mistake was watching anything from the Grammies. I have no sympathy for you at all. :D

I hear ya though... speaking of "the reason I picked up the guitar", I'm told Sabbath won a Grammy for the most gawdawful cobbled-together piece of noise they've recorded in 30 years. It's frankly embarassing.

Haha.. Did they now. I listened to the new album a while back and every single song was just a regurgitation of the old tunes. It wasn't horrible... considering their age..... but I wouldn't recommend anyone check it out either. lol

Morning Gus. I think the Emberlit has a couple of advantages. It folds flat making it easier to store and the main one, it's easier to feed. A lot of other stoves (like the four dog) you are limited to a certain size fuel pieces. If you can cram it through the door on the Emberlit, it can be three feet long and you're still golden. You don't have to pick up the pot or skillet to feed it either. And it's cheaper while also made in the USA.

Well... That's all true and all, but some of these guys like to beat their knives through wood to "process" firewood...
(Chortle) these other stoves that need chunks rather than utilizing a feed hole let an outdoorsman beat his blade through all of his wood, thus improving his bushcrafting skills of batonning and "processing" firewood.. (Chuckle)

So maybe the old four dog is four times the outdoor stove... Yeah, that's it!!!

Doc

well... there goes the continent.

I've carried a knife since I was six too. Nobody ever let me know it was a weapon.

Been wanting to Check out the ESEE Fire Kit for a while and That pouch for the Sheaths is really nice. Gonna put in on a Becker sheath i think.

First Time I've ever held an Izula II, And I must say, the handle is really comfortable. Fits the hand perfectly. Should have gotten one of these a long time ago. That handle would be great on a Becker. Maybe a BK-14 II.

Got the Wife an Izula and some KG Scales. Hope she appreciates it............ or else I'll strip it and use it myself. haha

And man I just couldn't pass up that brand new BK-11, shipped for $25. I really hate finding deals cause I can't say no.

Damn Dex! Nice score! I love my 11s, but the izula is a nice li'l blade too! I have one of those pouches on my 2, with the molle back panel from an Esee 5/6. I call it my Bastard Becker.

I've never understood watering/feeding/weeding lawns. If my wife would let me, every square foot of our yard except for the dog run would be planted with corn or carrots or garlic or something useful.

Nice haul Dex, I got a new 11 in the mail today too.. had to bolster my pic with everything in my backpack and pockets. ;)

LOL! We're with you James. Can't understand the appeal of green grass carpeting when you can have delicious vegetables and fruit!

Perfect day for the furnace to go on the fritz!! The flame is igniting, but the flame sensor must be shot, because after 5 seconds the flame goes out again and the code that is coming up says ignition failure. Hopefully my normal repair place can get a guy here right away this morning.

what kind of fuel?

if oil. water in lines? frozen lines? whut.

oh, yeah - Bladite: washer fluid doesn't freeze. it costs a LOT less per gallon than calcium carbonate (AKA "beet juice") and isn't corrosive.
filling your tires adds weight, which equals traction for ground engaging tools (snow plow, scraper blade, box blade, front end loader, disk harrow) and lowers your center of gravity for times when you're working on a slope.

no, i get WHY adding weight is good

but i can't do that if i want to trailer it with my current vehicle

imagine all the ladies (hello ladies!) that come calling for gardening help when you have a mini-backhoe

hell, almost the city people wanna try my regular riding lawn mower. "sure, you can mow my lawn"

filling the tires with mineral oil ;) now that can't go wrong ;)

they should just sell no flats and be done with it
