I've never understood watering/feeding/weeding lawns. If my wife would let me, every square foot of our yard except for the dog run would be planted with corn or carrots or garlic or something useful.

i've let a large part of one section of "lawn" turn into mint

it's amazing when i do mow it

Is that top one a Terrio?? Damn, that's hawt.

haw haw - you strapped a bottle opener to the one necker that didn't have one built in!

Nice haul Dex, I got a new 11 in the mail today too.. had to bolster my pic with everything in my backpack and pockets. ;)

Cool pics :)

LOL! We're with you James. Can't understand the appeal of green grass carpeting when you can have delicious vegetables and fruit!

Right on. All that junk people pour on their lawns isn't exactly good for the soil/water supply, either. And if I can't eat it, drink it or smoke it, I have very little interest in putting much effort into it. We do have some flowers, but they're perennials that basically just have to be cut back in the fall and left alone, so I can handle that.

Makes sense to me! I was thinking mint and/or clover if not veggies... doesn't get real tall and raggedy, almost zero maintenance, doesn't need a ton of water or sun, looks sort of normal... I'll have to talk to Ang about that again before spring...

Why yes, yes it is. Nice of you to say :)

lol daizee.. yes I did, but the 24 is the one I always carry.. as James said, it is one of his, it is the one he most generously made for his Thanksgiving give away.. looking forward to taking it to the woods soon, have a camp trip lined up for end of February, can't wait.

That thing is smokin', I hope it's a standard model.

I have a lot of mint in my 'lawn' too. Love mowing it, as much as one can love mowing...
A lawn should really be tended by a couple goats and some chickens.

Man, you guys are killing me. I have a Buck 112 on the way, and now I want a BK11 and an Izula-2... I'm supposed to be saving money!

I was reading my Knife Rights email, and I am flabbergasted and appalled! You poor Aussies!

Can I sell any kind of knife to someone under 18? What about kitchen knives or a plastic knife?

A: It's an offence for anyone under 18 to buy any kind of knife, or any other controlled weapon. This includes kitchen knives, bread and butter knives, box cutters and even plastic knives. If a child [anyone under 18] needs a knife for a legitimate reason, such as for work, they will need to get their parent or guardian to purchase the knives for them. There are no exceptions. If you or one of your staff knowingly sell a knife or other controlled weapon to a child, you or your staff member can face a fine of up to $2,389. *
*
Also:* Anyone under 18 who purchases a knife faces a $239 on-the-spot fine or they could face court and a fine of up to $1,433.
*
Additionally, even more chilling, "you can be searched for knives in a public place anywhere, anytime, with and without notice. If you are 16 and over and get caught carrying a controlled weapon such as a knife, you face an on the spot fine of $1,000, or you may have to go to court and face a fine of over $14,000 or one year imprisonment. This penalty is doubled if you are inside or within 20 metres of a pub, club or bar."

Yep, it seems that everything I am interested in is considered a weapon by the government. I still carry my 11 everyday for work though, I use it everyday so I'm not about to stop carrying it.

lol Dex, for the ones that started with F em all and all the earlier albums, the newer stuff is so lame.. I know they are all rich and famous and all, but And justice for all was the last "good" album.. the last album they put out had a few decent throwback sounding songs, but nothing to compare the good ole days.. I think I wore out 4 or 5 And Justice.. cassettes.

I like some of Metallica's more recent stuff but but it's defiantly not the same. It's difficult when a band has been around that long with such a huge influence and fan base. It's very difficult to stay true to your original sound while still growing and evolving as a band. You either keep churning out stuff that sounds exactly the same and get criticized for being stagnant or you try to stay relevant and get called a sellout or something. There's a very fine line in the middle but I'm not aware of any band that's been able to walk it for 30 years. Not to mention the dudes are 50 freaking years old.

Yup. Every maker needs to have a small bushcrafter up his sleeve. ;)

Angus Young has said many times... "I get so mad when people say we've made the exact same album 12 times. Nonsense! We've made the exact same album 15 times!!" :D (or something to that effect; I may have the numbers wrong. You get the idea, though.)

Moved a double tap in here.

Get some lady goats and stop worrying about your front yard.

I have their latest album (or at least a very recent album of theirs). The same, it is not. It's not bad but it's kinda soft for an AC/DC album. Then again those dudes make Metallica look young!

GSO, your entry into the outdoor cooking contest was phenomenal. Nicely done! I'd like to take a look at those recipes and give them a shot myself.

Whelp, I can still climb a 5.9 after taking a break from climbing for 3-4 years (I climbed a little, but never regularly). I feel awesome.
