Wow!! Gone for a few hours and I miss the close of one thread and a couple pages of a new one....

Bladite -Is that you in the magazine picture? With the tusks, I mean?

no, i'm the bullet inside

in in 3 where the cool kids be.
and I would love to have one of those ruger .44 carbines - even the lever action version would be OK.

In on 3! Just got back from a tiring hour of training (swimming). Feels good though. A few hours ago I started reading "Guess who's back" by Timur Vermes. One of the best things I've read with regards to recent publications. If you like history -especially WW2- and you like a good satire, this book is a must read. Not for everyone, I'm sure, but I'm thoroughly enjoying it. As a matter of fact, gonna continue asap :)

Look. Go orange or go home.

Yay! This picture makes me happy!
Of course I'm still rather drugged.

Watching lots of Netflix TV and not feeling guilty about it!

How have things been here in Beckerland? I've been gone for a long time, far too long.

I have edited this publication to include a statement of agreement with Guyon.

I Agree with Guyon.

Go home :D

I almost grabbed one of the newer smaller elmax steak knives.... But that orange is just SO SO SO UGLY to me. Its a knife not a traffic cone. I hate how everyone is making everything Orange or Zombie green like they are marketing it for kids or Halloween. But i like the blade and handle shape, just not the color they used for the smaller ones

Anyway whats that larger folding skinner?

In on 3 cuz I'm JT!

That's nice. Speaking strictly for myself, I'll stop making knives with orange and green handles when people stop buyin' 'em :p

The Western movie fan in me has always wanted a matching .44 LA rifle and SA revolver, and a 12-ga. coach gun. :) The CAS folks seem to have a ridiculous amount of fun with 'em.

Hey i dont blame you, go where the money is. And dont get me wrong, i love green. Its my favorite color, just not neon green. Its a fad, in one day and gone the next.... Im just hoping the "next" comes sooner rather than later. I much prefer dark colors, muted, camo, or whatever thats not neon or bright orange. But everyone has their own "taste" and preferences.

I don't have that many with orange, but I don't mind it for a change of pace, and I really like it as far as visibility on the ground.
I have laid down a hunting knife before and then had to come back and look for it after dark. Black handles? Dark, muted tones? Not so good.

The larger fillet knife is a Benchmade / Lone Wolf "Big Water" 8" knife. The smaller one is the 5" version in the same make and name.
I missed buying these designs back when they were the Benchmade Salmon Creek and Salmon River knives. Wish I'd gotten them back then. Better steel.
All of them are Steigerwalt designed knives, and all are discontinued at this point, I believe.
The early Benchmades were AUS-8. These subsequent Benchmade / Lone Wolf versions that I have are 420J.
Still nice knives to throw in a tackle bag. The folding design and locking mechanisms are pretty cool, and they're very lightweight and grippy.

Thanks for the info Guyon!! I like those skinners, even in orange LOL. I really like that they fold, but still have a nice long blade. Its just hunting or tactical type knives i dont like seeing in orange but again thats just my preference.... but i do understand the benefit of being able to see the knives better.

I talked a buddy into buying his first Becker today, he is getting a BK2. But im pretty sure he is planning on abusing it alongside other short thick knives. He was saying he wanted a knife somewhat similar to my custom drop point R6 without the top guard, but didnt want a choil or to spend 2-300 for it. SO i took a few pictures for him and next thing i know he sent me an email saying he just ordered the BK2!!

Have to admit, i havent brought a BK2 out in a while, but i think i need to get it back out and in use. I forgot how much i love that wide drop point blade. Need to get another handle bolt for this one too, a gave one away when someone lost theirs because i wasnt using this BK2 at the time. I guess i could steal one of the bolts off of the BK2 that Ethan sent me with his name engraved on it, but i dont like messing with that knife. Missing just the middle bolt probably wont affect it much if at all though.

Excuse the swamp rat knife in the pictures.....This is indeed about Beckers not swamp rat just showing what encouraged the guy to buy the BK2 and also these pictures made me appreciate the BK2 wide blade even more. The swamp rat knife is a custom, and I have started liking it more than the RMD even, but sitting both these knives side by side.... Id be lying if i said i didnt like how the BK2 blade looks there... I do really like a choil, i know most people here dont care for them, but i like choking up on a knife, especially when skinning fruit, carving, or making real detailed cuts.

I think i might have to mix these 2 knives into 1 and have a custom made. Wide blade like the BK2, but a little longer and with a choil. Thinner handle like the 6 in the picture, but blade .25" like the becker. The 6 is .265" thick. I would stay at .25" for this custom though... The steel i have on the way is .25" thick... might work good for this, but im also thinking of using that for something with a 15" blade...
