Since I have not been to Tennessee lately and have been unable to stock up on my beloved Black & Tan, I've been branching out and trying some new beers. I really like Newcastle.
I've never had much luck with getting decent sparks from stainless and some chromium alloys. I'm talking about a flint rock not a ferro rod.
I understand. I could be wrong but I don't think Case's CV has much chrome in it. Isn't it pretty close to/the same as 1095CV?
Ah, you're returning home, haha.
That is kind of the way it feels. A lot of condensing gear and finding lost items. My daily carry with the BPP was apparently up to 53 lbs.
I just tried with my Queen mountain man in D2 and just about set the carpet on fire. That was kind of surprising to me.
53, damn. I have crap scattered all over the place. I need to organize better. Some stuff I have in my lg ALICE BOB, some in the MAP, and some in my sling bag.
WW, I will agree that a recurve, especially a steep one, has a much larger learning curve, and its a LOT easier to hit wrong and also to glance from twisting your wrist when the belly strikes off angle.
I have a Love Hate relationship with recurves and kukri, they hit way above their weight, but they can be a real pain sometimes. One of my favorite large blade patterns is actually the HI Farm knife. I dont know if I want one of theirs, but I do want one shaped that way, and in that size range.
I'm raving about the brown ale.
Yea buddy, i really like that HI farm knife as well. Is that a disco model?
HI makes a lot of good copies.
in this case, the rambo / parang
buy the kabar one![]()
Ill be getting the Kabar one for sure... But im pretty sure the HI is a bit thicker than .188", probably more like 3/8" and would likely work better chopping for me. But the Parangatang is on my short list regardless. I dont even see the HI one being sold anymore anyway.
Yeah, I didn't notice until I went to switch and seen what all I had in it. I said "hell, that's gotta be too much gear". I loaded it back in and weighed it, just a hair over 53lbs. The MAP is carrying a lot less now. I haven't checked it. I don't get too hung up on weighing gear. I just thought most of it had to be unnecessary though.
